This thread is obviously gonna have some spoilers in it (though I'd prefer if you dont go too much into detail) so BE WARNED!!
Anyway, just name a game without giving too much away and maybe your reaction.
For me the cookie goes to KOTOR and Bioshock, both twists were like "WTF!!!!111one!!!1 ITS OVER 9000" and then you take a smoke break and think about it for like 5 minutes.

I wonder if that will make The Last Guardian apart of the story as well?

Meh, I saw the KOTOR one coming from a mile away. Same with Jade Empire.



TWEWY one was good. I was pissed off, depressed, and crying because of that plot twist.

All the twists I can think of at the moment were game endings. The original Baldur's Gate when I discovered there were hundreds of others like my character out there. It was unexpected after the game played up how special her and Sarevok were supposed to be. I guess they still were, but it surprised me enough to leave an impression.

The evil ending in Arcanum when my character joins Kerghan in annihilating all life, only to be betrayed by him and forced into a duel to the death. Even though my character wins that fight, she ends up wandering a lifeless world until the end of time.

The ending to 7th Saga which would take way too long to explai. The details are so convoluted I won't bother. Google it if you're really curious. Short version: Your character ends up being the same person that originally sends you on the quest due to time travel shenanigans.

Bloodlines' ending was a little surprising only in that I had no idea what form the disaster would take. Fortunately I was smart enough *not* to open that Sarcophagus my first time through.

I can't think of any great plot twists that really wowed me. I'll post them later if I do. The KotOR revelation caught me by surprise but didn't wow me because by then I *knew* something was up. The game telegraphed it constantly from Taris onward.

Jade Empire's twist didn't fool me at all because by then BioWare had the same problem M. Knight Shayamalan has with all his movies post Sixth Sense. My plot twist antennae were actively searching for a gotcha moment and the "final battle" came too soon and wasn't epic enough for me to believe that was it.
