Alex Mercer is in fact dead and his body is an avatar for the blacklight virus.

That one was awesome. I wondered how a virus could modify the human body like that.

Kingdom heart 358/2 days: XION WANTS TO KILLLL YOU!!!!

Hopefully, that will be the last game involving Organization 13. Seriously, I HATED those guys.

BLASPHAMY! THOSE GUYS ARE AWESOME (they are all dead now so I think your in the clear)

Their only job is to look as feminine as possible.

- when Le Chuck seemed to be Guybrush's brother in Monkey Island 2 (gladly, he wasn't)
- Ikutsuki shooting Mitsurugi's father (P3)
- Rush being a remnant himself (Last Remnant)
- Phoenix Wright's characters backgrounds/resolutions (not a complete twist, but they add)
- Guzza being the bad guy (Blade Runner vg by Westwood)

P4's gas attentant was so... insuspicious although the controller vibrated when I shook her hand in the beginning. But at this moment, I already expected something like this. More shocking was Adachi being the villain (or one of the villains). And that such a nice guy (at least he seemed so) was able to do so... awful things. (His voice adds to this.)

Final Fantasy Tactics (the original)

That entire game was just one crazy twist after another. You never know who to trust or who's gonna die.

The revelation at the end of The Witcher was pretty good. I'm not gonna spoil it, but those of you who played it knows what I'm talking about.

Also, the Princess is in another castle and Bruce Willis was dead all along.

Why should you? This means that at least one person pays attention to the story (somehow) and is not only interested in the... stuff you usually do in shooters. Posted Image (I hope that there isn't another game which can be reduced to MW2.)

Most people thought the MW2 story was crap cos they never listened and just wanted to make da gun do ad flashy thing. Modern Campfare 3?

Guess the big revelation in KotOR was a good twister.

This to me was one of the biggest shockers of my gaming lifespan. I actually wimpered "Son of a b!tch" when i discovered. Made me change the way i thought about my character A LOT!

A lot of the haters don't realize CoD does in fact have a story-driven single player. Silly haters.
Really... it wasn't even having Alex die. It was shooting all those civilians and America being invaded that really got to me. Not only was it artfully done, but you SAW the devastation and the consequences of every action. I wouldn't rank the plot twists super-high, but damn was that game emotional.

Nowadays, I still think KotOR still had one of the best plot twists, but Mass Effect's haven't been bad either.

The Witcher definitely deserves another mention.

The change in Deus Ex could be seen coming if you kept your eyes and ears open, but it was very well-executed. So yeah, Deus Ex is definitely up there.

Xenosaga:

Each one in each game was shocking although the one in the third made me think and replay the cutscenes to absorb what happened

Star Ocean 3:

Seriously that plot twist made me go WTF in a bad way

Tales Of Symphonia (the first one):

Although it did help to clear up the plot greatly

Spellforce 1:

SPOILER ALERT!!!

You spend the game trying to stop an evil mage from destroying a world that's already in pieces as is because of magic abuse, & one of the ones that caused the original destruction is... um... Doh! I forget his name. :pinched: Too long ago. Anyway, he helped destroy the world & turn it into scattered pieces of it's former self, & regrets his actions, so he is trying to help you stop the evil mage from finishing the world off. The evil mage eventually manages to kill this good mage, then ya fight your way through the rest of the game. At the end of the game, ya fight the strongest minion boss the evil mage has to stop this boss from crafting more evil army for the evil mage to use. The evil mage gets into a magic portal & you can't stop him, game over... or is it? The evil mage gets to the other side of the portal in the end game credits, & suddenly starts regretting his actions & vows to undo his damage, then ages into... Dun Dun Dun!!! The good mage from earlier in the game! The evil mage & good mage were young vs old versions of the same guy!

Can you imagine the irony? Start life as an evil mage, triumph over an older wiser good mage, get foiled by the hero main character, escape into a magic portal, wake up & realize how stupid evil was, turn good, work toward the destruction of your own younger evil self, then eventually die at the hands of your own younger, stupider, evil self? When I finally got this processed & figured it out as the end-game credits were rolling, it blew my mind...

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I think this was one of the coolest plot twists ever!

END OF SPOILERS!!!

(I hope I did the Spoiler Alert correctly. There is no freaking way I coulda described this properly in a 'beat-around-the-bush' kinda way. I'm a fan of that strategy, but unfortunately, it's not always managable. Even spelled out, I hope I didn't screw up at describing it correctly as is.)

Because the virus led to the artificial release of the decoded areas in the human genome.

Right, you let me know when they discover the genetic code for clothes. Point was that it made much more sense with you playing as Blacklight instead of Alex.

The entire ending of "Conker" Between Berri being used for target practice and the alien bursting out of the panther king, I was completely stunned.
