But yeah, I'm going to give Ander Flame and lightning. I mean, it makes no sense with the cutscene.
What spells do you think Morrigan, Wynne, Velanna and Anders "should" have from an RPG standpoint?

Morrigan - Morrigan is all about your direct damage, so Primal would suit her the best. For her second Spec, go Blood Mage, as she's got no qualms about using such things. I would have her stay away from the Arcane Bolt line. If you manage to max out her Primal, Blood Mage, and Shapshifter lines, start working on the Entropy school.
Wynne - Wynne is a support character. She specializes in keeping everyone alive. Spirit Healer is a must, and max out her Arcane Bolt line. She's been alive long enough to pick up more than a few tricks, so the higher-tier passives make perfect sense for her.
Max out her Creation school. Once it's filled, consider starting into the Spirit school. Especially Mana Clash line. It strikes me that she's going to know how to discipline upstart apprentices, and Mana Clash would fit as a more extreme version of that.
Anders - Anders doesn't do direct damage. Oddly enough, the Entropy school would probably fit him best. Mages can't stand up to Templars in a straight-up fight, so a direct attack (via Primal and Spirit) wouldn't really work. He strikes me as the type to shift the odds in his favor via more indirect methods. Abilities that decrease Attack would therefore be better suited to his needs. I would give him a Fire spell, as it would be useful for lighting campfires in the wild. And the Arcane Bolt line. While he doesn't have Wynne's formal training, he's an intelligent lad, so he can pick a few things up. No Blood Magic, though. Anders isn't the type to tempt things by dabbling in forbidden magic. Bad enough he's outside the Chantry's control; if he became a Blood Mage, he'd have no hope of escape if he got caught again.
Velanna - Not as sure about Velanna. Primal would probably make the most sense, given that the Dalish tend to work with Nature, and you'd obviously want Keeper. No Arcane Mastery line, though. I'd probably develop her Creation school, as Keepers are supposed to be healers as well as leaders.
Wynne - Wynne is a support character. She specializes in keeping everyone alive. Spirit Healer is a must, and max out her Arcane Bolt line. She's been alive long enough to pick up more than a few tricks, so the higher-tier passives make perfect sense for her.

Morrigan: Shapeshifter/Blood Mage, all 4 Cold Spells, then focus on Entropy: the Hexes, Drain Life --> Death Cloud, Sleep --> Waking Nightmare. Sometimes give her Walking Bomb.
Wynne: Spirit Healer/Arcane Warrior: Mainly Creation focus, some Spirit but not Walking Bomb line.
Velanna: Keeper/Shapeshifter/Battlemage. Focus on Primal and the Stinging Swarm Spirit Line. Sometimes sub Battlemage for Arcane Warrior, since it is an ancient elven form of magic.
Anders: Spirit Healer. Other specs vary but never BM or AW; has bits from all over since I see him as more of a generalist, but mainly Creation/Entropy.
EDIT: Re: Anders using fire spells, Wynne also uses a cold spell when you meet her in the Circle Tower, and she doesn't come with that either. =P

Anders - We see him use fire, and he talks about wanting the right to hit fools with lightning. I make him a Primal Mage, with Fire, Ice, Lightning, and a mix of Healing spells. I also give him the Blood Mage spec, since he has some dialog relating to it, and it fits with the Nuker theme.
Morrigan - SS/BM, with Entropy, Cold & Lightning.
Wynne - SH and no other specialization. I just don't see her as a Paladin type (AW), and she wouldn't become a BM.
Velana - Keeper / AW / Battlemage. She's a warrior witch of the Elves, and I don't like Shapeshifting much.

I made a velenna a healer, and Resorted anders to a backup healer. It fit more.
