Ergo Proxy

Sir, you are one of the few people I have encountered who has watched Ergo Proxy, awesome series even if it was a complete mind****.

EDIT:  Not to say being a mind**** is a bad thing, on the contrary its one of my favourite 'genres'! :D

Though it didn't make my favorites list, I've seen Ergo Proxy. Definitely a pretty sweet anime.

Old ones: classic shounen overall DBZ, YYH, Hokuto no ken, Saint Seiya (it's huge over here in Brazil). Gundam series overall, Cowboy Bebop, Berserk, Rurouni Kenshin, etc, can't remember more now...

Current ones: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Anyone who has a good taste for animation IMO has to watch this. Is THAT awesome. I didn't watch the first series but Brotherhood is godlike.

I watch more stuff but as favorites, that would be about it.

Edit: ****. Forgot to add Code Geass. The first season is godlike too. R2 got screwed up.

Haven't read anyone else's answers yet -

but I have a few I'd have to wade through to pick a "favorite":

Tenchi Muyo
El Hazard
Oh My Goddess
Record of Lodoss Wars
Bubblegum Crisis
Kimagure Orange Road

Yeah, nothing too recent in that list.  I do really like stuff like Trigun and Cowboy Bebop as well, but I cannot think of anything more recent than Elfen Lied that I even enjoyed.

Grew up watching tons of anime, but haven't watched as much lately. Anyway, my list is made of the classics.

Dragon Ball /Z/GT
Trigun
Gundam Wing
Sailor Moon
Technoman
The Wanderers: El Hazard
Robotech
Lupin III
Does Dominion: Tank Police count as a series, or is it an OAV?  I honestly forget, been years since I've seen it last.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of anymore offhand.

I dislike dubbed anime. I prefer watching it subtitled. North American dubbing is usually contrived and silly.

But then, I've been watching subtitled movies all my life.

Same here. I dont care how good the dub is, the whole concept of watching characters that are obviously japanese speak english seem so retarded. Hearing them speak their native language just seems more fitting and increases atmosphere. Now when it comes to anime which is not based in Japan or on japanese characters, thats a different story. But I still always prefer japanese to english dub as I like to see movies and series "as intented".

And being non-native english speaker I have used to watching subtitles all my life, can perfectly follow the screen and subs at the same time without problems.

01. Bleach, the main story is awesome, but the filler side arcs get kinda waky.  My favorite anime though.
02. Cowboy Bebop, this will always be a favorite of mine.
03. Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood (much better than the original in my opinion).
04. Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, I was expecting to hate it but totally got hooked.
05. Inuyasha, it will always be a staple to me.
06. Speed Grapher, disturbing and twisted with the best opening for an anime (in my opinion of course).
07. Dragon Ball, unedited this show is very funny.
08. Samurai Champloo, I love the art style.
09. Pumpkin Scissors, I started watching it because of the title, and ended up liking it.
10. Valkyria Chronicles, its kinda slow but the art is pretty and its fun.

While not anime shows, I love Hayao Miyazaki's films.  "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Spirited Away" are my favorites of his, though I've yet to watch "Ponyo."  It's rare that I find movies that my children and I love equally.

I haven't watched a whole lot of anime series, but my favorite so far is Kino's Journey. I also thouroughly enjoyed Ghost in the Shell S.A.C., Mushishi and The Twelve Kingdoms (and many more, but not quite as much as those 4)

Oh, and if it can be considered anime, The Mysterious Cities of Gold was also pretty awesome.

I love miyazaki's films, the animation is really pretty and the plots are really good and have action. My favs are Spirited Away, Totoro, and Porco Rosso.

I also like FMA and Death Note, but I would rather watch a Miyazaki film any day.

Why should anyone forget a Miyazaki classic? I still remember Princess Mononoke, and that one was from 1997.

I still remember Nausicaa. Y'all are casuals.

Seriously, though, Miyazaki is such a given I always forget to include his stuff in lists. An anime fan not liking Miyazaki is like a dessert fan who hates cake. Just doesn't make sense.
