am I the only one here who watches fullmetal alchemist!?

I've watched the entire original series and currently watching FMA: Brotherhood.

The original was decent, but Brotherhood is absolutely amazing!:o

It seems to be going in that direction based on the manga. The way events are proceeding, they are at least setting up the final chapters. Naruto isn't very long overall. Although I suppose it is longer than most anime series.

Not really big on anime, but there are some I really enjoy. In no particular order:

Gantz - Bloody fun. The "anyone can die" philosophy always kept me on the edge. Sucks they didn't follow up the manga and ended it. Still hoping for a continuation however.

Ergo Proxy - Mind**** for the win!

Basilisk - Made me sad trough out the whole story, but I still loved it.

Ghost in the Shell - Just awesome. Batou is badass.

Claymore - Another case with anime ending and manga continuing. Pretty sweet. Everytime Helen opens her mouth I brace for teh lulz of some sort.

Considering there have been threads that are over a month old returning on this forum, a mere seven days doesn't seem that extreme...

I'm a Revolutionary Girl Utena fangirl. It's fantastically quirky. Recently I watched most of Maria-sama ga miteru (Marimite; Maria Watches Over Us) set in a Catholic(!) girl school, the first arch of the ballet fairy tale Princess Tutu and the whole Fullmetal Alchemist series (sans the movie) and liked all of them a lot. Currently I'm in the middle of Le Chevalier D'Eon, Death Note, the first season of Higurashi - When They Cry, Last Exile and Paranoia Agent, all good. (And yes, I have trouble concentrating on one series at the time.) All in all my taste runs a bit strange, I suppose - I prefer my anime smart, strange and dark. Or Marimite ;D

Lol!  I actually have Utena on VHS.  Picked the boxset up last year in a used books/movie store but still haven't watched it.  I still haven't fixed my VHS player.  Guess this means I'll have to move it to the top of my list for the summer.

My favorites I guess would be...

Last Exile
Escaflowne
My Otome
Ghost in the Shell
Galaxy Railways
Zoids (the New Century Zero)
and the Crest/Banner of the Stars series.

....in no particular order =)

I'd also add Cybersix if it truly qualifies as anime.

Planetes is one of my favourites. Not only does it have a great story, but it's full of science and explores some interesting scientific concepts, such as people being born in low gravity environments, various mental conditions that can result from having such different perspective on one's environment, and the effect of increasing amounts of space junk in orbit.

I don't remember much about Ghost in the Shell, but I watched Stand Alone Complex more recently. Very awesome sci-fi. i've always enjoyed giant robots and cyborgs, and there's even an exploration on consciousness and the soul as it pertains to artificial intelligence.

Recently I watched Durarara! and it was fairly impressive. Could have been effected by the fact that I wasn't expecting much. This season I just started watching Arakawa Under the Bridge, and it's been turning out to be pretty darn good. Only four episodes so far, though, so it could still end up being really bad.

In the last recent number of seasons the shows I've really enjoyed are The Tower of Druaga, which jumped right on to my top 10 list, Spice and Wolf, Bakemonogatari (whimsical and tons of fun), K-on! (just silly fun), True Tears, and Clannad (also jumped right to my top 10 list).

Recent movie releases that were big to me were The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, which just debuted and was an excellent addition to that franchise. And Kara no Kyoukai, which very quickly became my #1 anime.

Oh, damn. Totally forgot about Bakemonogatari. SHAFT in general is epic-amazing. Most of my favourite shows these recent seasons have been SHAFT productions.

And the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is, in a word, awesome.
