Wow! Disregard my post as for some as yet unknown reason, the mod sudenly works! I'll share what i did in case others are having the same issue. Bassically I used these prepared Coalesced.ini files and restarted a fresh shepard. For some reason my fresh start shepard can wear Miranda's body as armor and casul but none of my pre-made shepards. Oh well, just another excuse to play this wonderful game again. =D

Here's the link to the prepared Coalesced.ini files.Credit goes to Southbeatz1169 for this excellent mod and  to RoadCrewWorker & NarfGarg for the idea.

Just look in the description of the youtube clip to find the link for the files.  Image IPB

Sorry to spam, but I spoke too soon. The Miranda texture only seems to work when I start a new game, if I try to load a save game from that same character, the texture revert to standard N7 armor. *cries*

You can only "play as Miranda" in one area at a time. [example: Citadel to Normandy. It will not maintain itself during the transition, so you will have to reset it again with the proper binding key.]

I read something about making binding keys but that part went right over my head.  Thankyou for clarifying though, that makes sense as everyrime there was a cutscene or looading sreen I reverted back to N7 armor.

I'll try to figure it out again, thanks for responding.

Hey azureum thanx for getting this organized bro its very helpful. I got a q for ya. In the last thread you gave me some info on how the get the illusive mans implants using the save editor, but i cant seem to change the actual color of the implants. They seem to be stuck as the renegade red, is there a way to change it? I tried messing with the color codes in the save editor but have no luck.

also has anyone tried to make hair into a armor selectable i only ask because ive been gettiing some clipping with some of the helmets.
Another question ;p Ive gone into gibbeds save editor a n noticed the shrink head is there a value i can change for just reducing the neck size. again clipping issue on mirandas suit.
thanks for any help

i
take it no ones figured a way to add the console to the game. so again
I ask does anyone kmow how to edit eye implant colors in the Gibbeds
save editor??? i know how to make glowing eye but id rather know how to
achive implants like the illusive mans and then edit those colors.

Open save in Save Editor.
Change to Raw tab.
Expand Squad > Player > Appearance > Morph Head > Texture Parameters.
Open the Texture Parameters list.
Add two new entries as follows:
code:

Name: EYE_Diff
Value: BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.IllusiveMan.HMM_HED_PROIllusiveman_Eye_Diff

code:

Name: EYE_Spec
Value: BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.IllusiveMan.HMM_HED_PROIllusiveman_Eye_Spec

Open Vector Parameters

Change "EYE_Iris_Colour_Vector" name to "Emis_Color" (without the quotes) and then change the colour values,

http://andylangton.co.uk/stuff/colour-converter
3rd
box down you enter your RGB values, i.e; "111,53,26" (Auburn) into the
'RGB colour:(255-based)  -> RGB colour:(Percent-based)' input field.
This will give the result of percentages as such: 44%,21%,10%, this
translates into ME2 as a range between 0 (0%) and 1.0 (100%).

So an example of Auburn in ME2 ready colour format would be: (red) 0.44, (green) 0.21 and (blue) 0.1.

Here are some more examples to show you:

Cobalt: R: 61, G: 89, B: 171, which translates in percentage to: 24%,35%,67%, for ME2 would be R: 0.24, G: 0.35, B: 0.67
Lime Green: R: 50, G: 205 , B: 50, which translates in percentages to: 20%,80%,20%, for ME2 would be R: 0.2, G: 0.8, B: 0.2

NOTE: Some colours just don't show as they should, try playing with the values for A: (Alpha).

Proof it works:

../../../uploads_project/project_gallery/3000/2295/1238/3510.jpg

Thank
you for that, been looking for that myself but couldn't remember the
page, lols this thread is too big, You didn't include the necessary
bits to change the colour of the eyes, so I went ahead and investigated
myself, my changes are in bold above.

@Everyone
Why don't I
start another modding thread, since I'm quite an active modder and tbh
the thread starter doesn't seem to be updating the first post. Is there
a character limit in a post, or more importantly edit time limit?

found this post hope it helps

Could some please tell me how to have Kasumi available to "wear" (body and head) as a casual appearance & armor appearance for my MaleShep & FemShep.
Or if anyone could upload a modded Coalesced.ini with Kasumi already available as Casual / Armor appearance option, I
would be very grateful ../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png.

PC heads will likely not look right with Kasumi's armor since the hood size is set for her head mesh, and unlike her head Shepard's won't have the proper forehead shading. Editing a helmet with bHideHair=True solves the hair clipping but it still looks weird. Here's a picture.

I feel like a retard here, but how does one go about editing my current shepard to have eclipse armor (male) with a helmet? I really like the look of their exterior "barrier" shield or whatever it is.

Yes, me while being a big ME2 fan  was always kinda anoyed by the lack of armors availible, wh.ile you can customise the n7 armor, it always looked very standard. so yeah i  need something like that

The lack of decent armor colours annoys me more to be honest, some are downright ugly.

If you use my armor locker 2.0 mod and add another entry into loadseq.txt as follows:

"OnlyLoadLevel BioP_TwrVxL" (without the quotes)

And in Coalesced.ini add these entries under [SFXGame.SFXPawn_Player]

For the armor:
TorsoAppearances=(Id=1000,Type=CustomizableType_Torso,Mesh=(Male="BIOG_HMM_ARM_HVY_R.HVYa.HMM_ARM_HVYa_MDL",
Female="BIOG_HMM_ARM_HVY_R.HVYa.HMM_ARM_HVYa_MDL"),PlotFlag=-1)

Helmet:
HelmetAppearances=(Id=1,Type=CustomizableType_Helmet,Mesh=(Male="BIOG_HMM_HGR_MED_R.BRTc.HMM_BRTc_MED_MDL",
Female="BIOG_HMM_HGR_MED_R.BRTc.HMM_BRTc_MED_MDL",bHasBreather=True,bHideHead=False,bHideHair=False,PlotFlag=-1)

PS: On my end it looked odd in the preview part of the armor locker mod, but in-game as you can see is fine, maybe it was just my end, I have highly modded my ini file lol.

ok i was looking in the posts and its getting a little chaotic. we need to sit down and post vids on simple mods. as changing things like scars and the colors. how to add stats to armor. as i would like to add the stats from the doctor peeper items to my dragon blood armor if that's possible. the thing is i and most people don't have the time and patience to look at 500+ posts. i have no problems making videos and placing them on youtube

Did you open with notepad++ and then use the fixer?

The original Modding is Possible thread is now so massive it's become very difficult to locate information, a lot of information is also being repeated. The ME2 Mods forum is still in it's infancy and does not have as much content as the original thread, but this new thread managed by yours truly will suffice for the time being.

Rest nulled to save space.

******** FIRST THINGS FIRST ********

A lot of the modding is done in a file called "Coalesced.ini" located in your Mass Effect 2 > BioGame > Config > PC > Cooked folder. Where it resides on your PC/Laptop is dependent on where you installed it.

If you are not sure where you can right-click on the shortcut to play Mass Effect 2 and select Properties, from there you can see a button along the bottom that will allow you to open the location, this will bring you to the Mass Effect 2 folder and you can find your Coalesced.ini from there.

Tips

I would HIGHLY recommend backing up your original Coalesced.ini, in fact I would go as far as to say this is an essential step in modding Mass Effect 2. But just for your information you can obtain a fresh one from your install disc in the Data folder within a file called data01.rar.

If you have already taken it upon yourself when finding Coalesced.ini (which will further be known as C.ini just to simplify things a little) to open it, it will appear as a garbled mess of text unless you open it with the right tool. In this case that tool is NotePad++.

Download NotePad++ from SourceForge

If you open C.ini into your new Notepad you will find the contents much easier to read, instead of a large garbled mess you will see something like this:

EnemyDistance_Melee=300.f
Rest nulled to save space.

That's because C.ini is a not an ordinary text file, it has UNIX based End Of Line characters, which might mean nothing to you but only certain text editors understand them, NotePad++ is one of them.

C.ini also has a little extra security that normally would cause the game to crash if you make a change and try and load it. The file has a character based checksum which means it knows how many characters are in
it and if more are added or some are taken away it will not load correctly in the game. To get around this you will need a small program called ME2IniFixer that can fix the file so you can play again.

Download ME2IniFixer
Download ME2IniFixer (Mirror)

You will need to place this program in the same folder as your C.ini and
then Right-Click on it and create a shortcut (or Send To > Desktop).

Rest nulled to save space.
