I dunno if it really merits necroposting, I wasn't impressed... Since at least when I tried talking with him, he actually got a bit shirty with me despite Bioware not providing any way to message moderators when you are banned (unless you already know the profile link, since it stops you viewing any part of the forum you can't look for them to message them). He told me I can only message on here, talk about catch 22. Maybe I can get a reply on here since there doesn't seem to be any rule against discussion (I looked in the rules).

I still think I was justified in saying Garrus, Kaidurrn and ASHLAYYY are mediocre flat generic characters and that ME3 would be better if they keep up including (and creating) more varied deep characters than drawling texans. And that the little clique that was verbally insulting and trolling me for daring criticise their idols should have been temp banned not me. I didn't insult any of them just was sarcastic back to them (like they were me), no rules broken, yet they said plenty of "name calling". I could've reacted nastier (as I probably would if they were as mouthy to me in real life!) but I didn't, yet I was the one who got silenced. I still think it's well dodgy how the same mod that temp banned me for daring to criticise the fanboyandgirlism in that thread is in a "support [tali and] garrus" group, and afterwards gloated in the fan support thread about his "banhammer".

I still think the idea of "volunteer mods" is flawed in general because the kind of people who want to spend loads of free time doing so are not going to be impartial by nature, and not as qualified to do so as professional community managers that other companies employ. I realise you might want to save money but there's a reason other companies don't do this! People that are able to act impartially even when they have interest in an issue are a very rare breed, the simplest way is to employ unbiased outsiders. It also creates a lot of privacy issues too especially if these members of the public are given access to the admin tools to read private social groups or private messages etc as well (?)

I'm not going to argue it further since it seems to be ok now, but this really shouldn't have happened, and just hope things change for the future, people should be able to say what they want about fictional characters even if it is controversial, without fear of attacks from fan cliques attempting to silence criticism. Yes, I was blunt in calling them ugly etc but people that insult real people should be banned, not fictional ones. They tried to goad and troll me into insulting them with their snide comments and insults but all I did was respond with sarcasm instead of insulting them back, which they would fairly well have deserved from the kind of childish things they were saying to me (calling [i]me[i] a child, stupid, "son" (probably the most offensive in that he was attempting to deny my sexuality), blabla. Petty stuff which is why I didn't reply in kind, I'm just gobsmacked really that despite not rising to it I'm the one that got banned with "drunken pyromaniac", "SilverRose208", "Pups_of_war_76", "LPPrince" and "TeenZombie" getting off with apparently nothing)
