5)Morrigan - Mage/Shapeshifter (Human) (B)

6)Sten - Fighter (Qunari) (B or G?)

7)Alistair - Fighter (Human - GW) (G or B? )

Each companion has an entirely unique personality, so I would wait until you actually get to play through the game before trying to determine who would get along best with a good or evil character. You never know, Wynne might secretly be plotting world domination and Zevran might be on a mission to free the world from all evil.

Zevran's not bad. He's just drawn that way.

This is what I positively love about Dragon Age so far is that there doesn't seem to be any clear cut view of bad or good. It's more based on perspective and how you choose to view things.

Zevran to me is good because initially he rebelled against his training, to me this indicates a strong will hiding behind a pretty smart ass face who could have more heart then he shows.

Leliana because of her one way opinions (or so it seems so far) could be dangerous, but she does it because she believes it's right.

Wynne seems like a good character but I wouldn't surprised if behind that facade is some nefarious plot. Maybe? :P

Morrigan, could go either way, no idea there.

Same for Ohgren no videos so far, so yeah...

Sten seems like a good character to me as well, maybe traditionally he's be 'bad' but he seems too honorable..

Alistair walks another fine line, looks like he's got the perfect temperament to be a rogue but instead got pressured to be a templar. Can't say now if he's bad or good for sure. Not that I care he's yummy!! XD

War dog, he's probably your loyal companion who could care less about good or evil.

Shale, depends what his soul is, hard to say right now.

But overall I think it's going to be hard to pidgeon hole anyone as good or bad, like in forgotten realms where it seems sooooo simple most of the time. Image IPBImage IPB

I thought one of the main pillars of Dragon Age was that there was no clear distinction between good and bad in the way you're casting it. With a game like this, I would imagine that you could potentially have an otherwise "bad" character work with you to achieve a common goal, and vise versa.

Given that's the case, why try to make the distinction for each character?

Whether or not they are good or bad depends on your view on what good and bad is.

This is true.

And while Zevran might really be trying to get close to you to spy on you, and while we know he's an excellent assassin, characters of his archetype frequently turn to the side of good.  I'm not saying Bioware will go that route, especially in Dragon Age:  I still wouldn't trust him farther than I could throw him.  After all, he's been trained in the art of deception.  Personally, I wonder if he's a half-elf or a full-blooded one, and whether his elven heritage might give him the desire to join with the Dalish if possible.  And purely on a speculative basis, I think he really is trying to leave the Crows by joining with the party.  The question is, why?  Clearly he has personal reasons.

Morrigan has already been revealed as having her own reasons for doing what she will do--we aren't going to know those reasons until and unless we play with her in our parties.  Maybe we won't even understand her fully until we've played all the origins--if we understand her then.  She may be hoping to destroy humanity, or she may have goals pertaining to freedom of magic use.

I'd say that, as with Zevran, don't trust Stev.  He's kind of cool, but if I'm remembering what I read about his race, they don't like anyone but themselves.  On the other hand, if you want to be betrayed... well go for it.

With all the options for interaction, this game will have a lot of replay value.  I'd go so far as to say that you won't have played the game fully until you've been every possible origin as both genders and all available classes for that origin--I'm sure each way will influence it.  Plus you'd have to try all available options.  Some of those origin videos make me think that the same origin will be vastly different depending whether you play a female or male.

We can speculate all day and we won't know anything more, in short, until we've played the game.  But hey, November 3 is not a long way off, right? :)

I really hope we can't put companions into "good" and "bad" boxes like that. Think about the people you know in real life--how many of them would you really call "bad"? Now, how many of them would agree to help some guy get together with his long lost love, when they just met him and don't know him from Jack the Ripper? Yet, that's the sort of thing we end up doing in RPGs. You don't have to be a bad person to refuse to help someone.

Zevran didn't want to be in the crows or want to be an assassin, maybe he secretly has always hated them. There are no half elves, you're either an elf because both your parents are elves or you're human if only one of your parents is an elf. This is why elves tried to leave humans behind after first mingling with them, well partly one of the reasons is because they were losing their immortality and the other is because you can only produce human children with elf and human pairings.

At least that's what it says in the wikia. XD

I, too, hope that NPCs can't be easily classified as good or evil. Especially with all the different origins. For example, maybe a Noble Dwarf would find Oghren a disgrace to his people, while a commoner would be more likely to sympathise with him. Or Alistair might seem evil to a mage character (due to him being a former templar).

I'd say it's too early to tell for this one quite yet. You might want to reserve your judgements until after X character betrays your party at Y time :)

Yeah, I'm not sure there is a distinct good/bad label for people in this game. What you do have are certain party members who will probably get along better with each other, and some who will clash. So if you want to try and get good rep with the party members you take along (assuming you have a set team) you might want to consider that.

From what I've seen so far:

Friendly:

Leliana - Wynne

Zevran - Wynne

Sten - Dog

Unfriendly:

Wynne - Morrigan

Sten - Wynne

Alistair - Morrigan
