Yea, Quarians don't make sense, I support you on this claim, this whole lost of immune system in 300 years is complete bollocks.

Humans can lose theirs in less time Image IPB

Does not add up. What about those Quarians on Asari planets or salarian Colonies that stayed there. They can't just have lost their immune system that easily. Neither could they have all been kicked out. It simply does not add up.

As for how humans lose quickly their immune system and become allergic to everything... People simply used to die before we could realise they were allergic. And hell, some genes that made caucasians more resistant to small pox are still in the gene pool. I mean, unless the Quarians picked up all the sickly individuals and left all the strongest one on their homeworld, there is no way they would be forced to be suited up for the rest of their lifes...

Fear of contamination + fear of hull breach = fear of removing suits.
If the quarians would let themselves adapt to an environment then they could.  Instead they are put in a bubble from birth. Image IPB

wow, are you really seriously arguing about that? it's a freaking game. everything here doesn't make any sense. you think that even human generate powerful biotic to knock down enemies? shockwave, reave, throw, cloak, shadow strike.... all no sense. you know, don't argue. just enjoy damn game. will you?

Exactly.  As long as it is internally cosistent with the game it doesn't matter if it is consistent with the real world Image IPB
Though the game seems plausible if everything is it says happened were to happen. Image IPB

To respond to this persons rather long statement ......Your forgetting a few thing to take in part like immunization. Most species build immunity to viruses and disease like how we do with chicken pox. Now with a sterile environment like the flotilla(and sterile environments do exists like Hot labs...one is used to house small pox.) and with everyone living in suits how on earth would they build up they immunity to disease?

Also, tie in the fact that they have a weak immunity to begin with. I read the part about he people do have immunity to other animals disease and the fact that the Quarians allergic to other species disease and live make no sense, but your for getting that quarians are a completely different gene type from other aliens except turians....Which means they won't get an infection the same way human do from are own disease. Their bodies would treat the disease like how a person who lactose intolerant or allergic to shell food would. The disease would not eat away their bodies, just cause an over reaction.....and that over reaction can kill a person.(Bee sting alleges, dust, shell food, etc.)

As for the theory on the Founder Effect, with the qurians this is not the case. This is a case of extreme isolation.
Example, when the Europeans came to America, the brought over most of the disease the plagued them. Though most survived the effect, the natives of America had no deference to these disease and most died off. This is the same case with the quarians. No disease on the ship to cause sickness, suits to make sure their still don't get sick, and no organic environment to contest the immune system brought them to an event of extreme isolation. They did not evolve into a lack of an immune system, they just did not build one in the first place. Case in point, an adult who never got the chicken pox as a child could die from it if the get the disease as an adult.

As for the sterile environment..........their in space..........SPACE!!!!!!!!! How can any new organic creature or disease enter the ship if it's in space? The scrub everything down when they come back planet side, and the scrub them selves down before get back on the flotilla. So they sterilize it inside and sterilize everything that comes in, how can new diseases come it if their in space?

Acquired immunity can't be the problem, a race that advanced should know the consequences of living in a 100% sterile environement. The first quarians to board on space ships brought germs from their homeworld with them, why would they sterilize their ships like that if that leads to their current situation.

Fear of contamination.  The same thing that keeps them in their suits now.

Sorry for the necro. Agree and disagree. Considering the tech they have in this game, I'm certain they can make a completely germ free environment. But they used to live on their homeworld without suits, so why did they suddenly start wearing them when they fled? No other species had to wear suits when they left their world with the exception of Volus, as they can't survive in anything but the high pressure environment of their homeworld.

The 100% germ-free environment doesn't work because that would mean all spaceships are germ-free, which doesn't explain why Tali keeps her suit on when she's on the Normandy.

nerds will rage over a lot of things.

Quarians ships have higher level of sterile than the Normandy does.

People who are bothered about the inconsistent and the implausible and don't just accept "It's a game / film / book / whatever" are people who think. Good for them!

Well, I'm willing to accept it if it's internally consistent. Quarians aren't really, though, which is annoying, so I just ignore what the game says and use my own fanon version.

EDIT: Also, on the topic of no insects:

This was a pretty sizeable discussion. I stumbled on this, even sent the OP a PM but so it seems he hasn't been on BSN in over a year too...
