This.  I pay attention primarily to the shape described by the lines, more than the colours therein.  Once I started doing that, I no longer felt the need to bother with the hacking-module upgrade (which was handy, because that is money I can more usefully spend elsewhere).

Bit of both, coming to think of it... I sort of "blur" it and see some basic shapes and colors.

Actually, I found out that hacking is critical to main questline when I got to Horizon.

I think both hacking and bypass are well done.

Of course with the addional time when buying the technology from shop, they both are really easy. Basicly it's just money what's behind these, but there is few research stuff too, like someone allready sayed before. I did had more problem with bypass than hacking, something to do with mouse movement. So, I don't think hacking is required for playign the game.

You'll miss out on a whole lotta $$$ and some upgrades.And I couldn't hack at all till I realised that inputting a code was done using the spacebar.And get the Hack Module from Harrot's.It really helps a lot.

I had trouble on maybe my first 5 hacks and then it was second nature...always do a save before and a hack and you're good to go. It really isn't hard...the question was asked..how can any serious gamer have trouble with this?
