I'm sorry, but either the whole "Wilson is a traitor!" thing had to be either an elaborate frame to get Shep to trust Cerberus, or really bad writing on Bioware's part...

well they do deal with slavers and such, so I highly doubt that is front-room dealing anyway. Collectors don't like being in the spot light.

Yeah, maybe, but they don't ever say from whom. Or what motivation that entity would have for wanting Shepard dead.
I figured it was the Shadowbroker. As a member of the project and Cerberus he'd likely have known SB was interested in Shep some time ago, made a call, arranged a deal and used the mechs to kill the personnel so that he could extract Shepard.

Re: Wilson in his logs. The logs that play are a very random assortment of snippets. (I know they are there to fill us in about the Lazerus project, but the specicif sections which play make no sense as the top entries at the various points.) Why do Wilson's personal logs where he is complaining about lack of appreciation even play like that? Seems to me that if you are going to moan about work, you don't record it on your work databases (especially when you work for someone like Cerberus). Also, in order to get attacked by the very mechs you unleashed, you'd need to be pretty incompetant.
I would love for there to be something more to this, but unless Cerberus shows itself to be some kind of Big Bad in ME3, I can't see it happening.
He was not attacked..... he shot him self in the leg...........

Nah, just more concrete evidence that he was indeed a traitor, rather than just the word of Cerberus Fangirl Miranda Lawson.
I hated my job and one of my female coworkers too, does that make me the most obvious suspect if sometime goes wrong at work, and does it count as sufficient evidence to prove the I'm the one who caused it?
No?

I still don't trust her at this point. something is just off about her.
If it helps I can tell you she does not betray you. She is one of the three hwo in fact is the ideal choice to be the leader and if you bring hr with you to TIM she gives him the bird. She can be trusted.

Oh. Sorry. My bad. I usually skip over the dialogue in that mission so I can get to Omega faster. lol
Anyway - it's fun to speculate like this regardless. (not my misremembering the game. I mean, speculating on plot elements re: your earlier post)

Over all as a game I enjoy ME2 but there are some things I just can't understand why they would do it. OPs issues are one of them, the second one is how Ashely and Kaiden come out of no where and finally Liara gets a desk job. Not to mention the last boss was terminator, they should have gone with the giant fetus instead. Lets not forget about the giant plot hole where we can stash 12-13 people into one small shuddle to leave while everyone else gets raped.
These five things just bug the **** out of me.
To be fair about the Ash/Kaidan thing, the statis are only short term and not to mention there armor has a medical system built in and the Collectors only took half the colony.

But what you're asking for is worse.
DEAR DIARY
I WAS CONTACTED BY A.... PERSON TODAY WHO OFFERED ME A LOT OF MONEY TO DO A.... THING....
And the game drops serious clues, Wilson being alone when he was shot, Jacob questioning why he was in there, Wilson leading the two of you through a room with mechs to which Jacob takes offense.

LOl np, just wanted to clear that up, thats why I think he is a trator, why would he feel the need to shoot him self to get Shepards trust? Why not just kill some MECHs or something?

As someone else already pointed out, why shoot himself in the leg when he could've just run to the Shuttle and left everyone there to rot?

Hey - I played it fully the fisr three or four times. I was sure he had said mech attack, but apparently not. I just never realised that he shot himself in the leg. It seems like a bloody stupid thing to do. In my head it's always been mech-attack. I have a crappy memory, I guess.

He needed Shepard if he was going to get his money, being shot makes it look like he's not the traitor.

To be fair I've played through that level some twenty times before deciding my Shepard was ugly and needed another makeover. I spend the conversations just scrutinizing Shepard's expressions and angles.

Because he was not that far away from where Shepard was? Also what better way to gain trust by acting like you where shot? As I have said wait for ME3, and then we can rip at everything. It was the same with the Empire Strikes back, when it came out, fans complained alot and ripped apart at the story, but then Return of the Jedi and now Empire Strikes is like a fan fav.

2) Again, at most 50 people, and the shuttle would hold 13-20, so probably 4 shuttles to begin with, unknown how many for real. May have had a smaller staff of 20 or less people on the station. Cerebrus isn't huge, again around 150 people, and more wouldn't be needed on this project than 10-20.
3) Unknown if more died somewhere else, or if Jacob was the only one simply because this wasn't a military operation. How many people do you really need to protect 20 people if you have good mechs??
4) Guess you really didn't listen to the logs. And no, he wouldn't be a rock star in the science world, because I really doubt Cerebrus would allow it, remember they are a semi-secret organization, not a science research group looking to publish papers.
5) Possible, dangerous, but possible. Then what happens if Shepards dies and they can't revive him?? definite gamble.
6) Stupid move by Miranda, but then her objective is Shepard's safety, and she didn't have a good holding cell to stuff him in and very limited personnel to secure him. Tactical decision maaaay justify it, simply because she couldn't guarantee Shepard's safety otherwise.
7) Listen to the logs, he was hoping the success of reviving Shepard would allow Miranda to loosen up and notice him, and when it didn't happen, he acts like a child and calls her a cold B!tch. It is also unknown when he finally gets fed up with the lower creds and cold shoulder to actually do something about it..
Didn't you listen to his "Shepard's Alive!! How...nevermind, where are you" speech?? Seriously, did you really believe mechs shot him???? Where are the bodies, and how did he get hit in the leg, behind cover?? Where are the mech bodies?? As far as the mechs after linking up with him, they only come AFTER Shepard is there.
Personally I could believe it easier that TiM, bribed him to do it as a test, but Wilson was involved deeply in the mech attack. I think at most it was a test of Miranda and Shepard by TiM, but mostly I think it was just a out front ShadowBroker plot to get Shepard's body back.

This is what made me doubt Wilson's "betrayal". No one in their right mind would leave audio logs talking about how much they hate their job and their boss lying around for anyone to find.
My theory is that Miranda was ordered by TIM to activate the mechs as away to destroy all evidence of the project and to test Shepard's abilities. Miranda knew that Wilson was fairly disgruntled with his job so she hacked his personal logs and put snippets of him saying how much he hated his job around the base for Shepard. There by setting him up as the perfect scape goat.
