I'm sorry, but either the whole "Wilson is a traitor!" thing had to be either an elaborate frame to get Shep to trust Cerberus, or really bad writing on Bioware's part...

Oh. Sorry. My bad. I usually skip over the dialogue in that mission so I can get to Omega faster. lol

Anyway - it's fun to speculate like this regardless. (not my misremembering the game. I mean, speculating on plot elements re: your earlier post)

Hey - I played it fully the fisr three or four times. I was sure he had said mech attack, but apparently not. I just never realised that he shot himself in the leg. It seems like a bloody stupid thing to do. In my head it's always been mech-attack. I have a crappy memory, I guess.

He does say they got me, yet there is no MECHs in that room, so he shot himself in the leg to look like he was inocent. I wish Biuoware would have gaven an option to say "do you think I am that stupid?"

So you want him to make silly asides or talk suspiciously? As soon as I met Wilson I knew he was the baddie, anymore and they may as well just had him let out a MUAHHAHAH.

Nah, just more concrete evidence that he was indeed a traitor, rather than just the word of Cerberus Fangirl Miranda Lawson.

I hated my job and one of my female coworkers too, does that make me the most obvious suspect if sometime goes wrong at work, and does it count as sufficient evidence to prove the I'm the one who caused it?

No?

Then try again please...

But what you're asking for is worse.

DEAR DIARY

I WAS CONTACTED BY A.... PERSON TODAY WHO OFFERED ME A LOT OF MONEY TO DO A.... THING....

And the game drops serious clues, Wilson being alone when he was shot, Jacob questioning why he was in there, Wilson leading the two of you through a room with mechs to which Jacob takes offense.

If he truly was meant to be the traitor then it was really poorly written then, because you've only covered one reason why I said it seemed unlikely he was not a traitor.

And where he was, he could've easily just run to the shuttle by himself and took off, leaving Shep, Miranda, and Jacob to die.

This is what made me doubt Wilson's "betrayal". No one in their right mind would leave audio logs talking about how much they hate their job and their boss lying around for anyone to find.

Meh, I can wave that away as level design.  But it'd be cool if you're right.

To be fair I've played through that level some twenty times before deciding my Shepard was ugly and needed another makeover.  I spend the conversations just scrutinizing Shepard's expressions and angles.

lol. Nothing worse. Or, I decide just after landing on Freedom's Progress that I want to play as a diffferent class.... sigh. Damn tutorial mission...AGAIN!  (I know it's my own fault, but still bloody frustating. Wish there was a 'skip to the end' option for new game plus.

I have just read this thread back and it might be the wine or the lack of sleep, but the leg thing: thats' specualtion, isn't it? (*embarressed slinking away*)

EDIT: Well, at least I didn't totally remember major plot points as wrongly as I'd thought. (*feels marginally better*)

I guess its bad writing, but it would be good if he was just a pawn, not the betrayer.

I always thought it was left too vague, but don't want to pass judgement until ME3. I think Wilson being indoctrinated could prove to be an interesting way of explaining it, though how and when he came in contact with the reapers wouldn't be entirely easy thing to explain.

Not at all.

Somebody has turned the mechs on the base.

We get logs where Wilson indicates that he would like to be paid more and is not feeling appreciated.

We find Wilson ALONE in the server room after being led through a room with mechs in it. Jacob questions his being there. He has been shot and accuses Miranda of being the traitor and insists we abandon her.

What MORE did you want?

Did you want credits spilling out of his pockets?

If you didn't figure it out fine, but I and I know a fair share of other people figured it out so Wilson was hardly the out-of-left field choice you're making it out to be.

And as Kraidy said, if he leaves he just wasted two years of his life and will likely find it hard to get another job reference.

Ben-ben Franklin' style: Three can keep a secret when two of them are dead.

So. TIM had a whole station of people who knew what he did. Robot uprising kills all except the real agents... Jacob and Miranda. However, why hack into the station and do wacky things when you can give Wilson orders to run this program on this day, and then get the hell in touch with Shepard, Miranda, and Jacob, then get off the station.

In the meantime, TIM hints to Miranda to watch Wilson. His tech is needed to pull the job off... But TIM had suspicions. Along the way, TIM drops hints to Miranda about Wilson doing odd things around the bots, then when the poop is flying, Miranda puts two and two together and gets SHOOT HIM IN THE FACE.

Also possible:  Thinking about it too much.  :-D

That would be great if true. But why he is so dumb then to record such logs or atleast encrypt them so not everyone could hear them easily like sheaprdt did with his/her omnitool.

Why would the SB want Shepard dead? Seems to me s/he's more useful alive...

LOL I look at it as gameplay so we can see that Wilson has reasons to betray Cerberus, tho I do think we should have hacked his logs to see them. It would have made more sence.

Even though they made it very obvious that Wilson is slimy and suspicious, that doesn't change the fact that his motivations are baffling.  That's why people want to find ulterior motives and that's why we're surprised they don't give any.  "I hate my job and my boss" doesn't make a lot of sense as an explanation.

After liara incident, that caused SB alot of resources, time and men. I would not be surrpised if he wanted to make sure Shepard was dead.
