I'm sorry, but either the whole "Wilson is a traitor!" thing had to be either an elaborate frame to get Shep to trust Cerberus, or really bad writing on Bioware's part...

Wilson needed Shepard and hopefully Jacob to get off the base and stay alive. IF Wilson left without Shepard then he didn't get paid, and once he knew Shepard was up and with Jacob, he needed them as cover, because if he was the only one to survive(aka take the shuttle alone), then TiM would probably put a contract out for his head(sole survivor is the one who did it theory).

Not at all.

Somebody has turned the mechs on the base.

We get logs where Wilson indicates that he would like to be paid more and is not feeling appreciated.

We find Wilson ALONE in the server room after being led through a room with mechs in it. Jacob questions his being there. He has been shot and accuses Miranda of being the traitor and insists we abandon her.

What MORE did you want?

Did you want credits spilling out of his pockets?

If you didn't figure it out fine, but I and I know a fair share of other people figured it out so Wilson was hardly the out-of-left field choice you're making it out to be.

And as Kraidy said, if he leaves he just wasted two years of his life and will likely find it hard to get another job reference.

Even though they made it very obvious that Wilson is slimy and suspicious, that doesn't change the fact that his motivations are baffling.  That's why people want to find ulterior motives and that's why we're surprised they don't give any.  "I hate my job and my boss" doesn't make a lot of sense as an explanation.

Those are not his motivations though, that just makes betraying Cerberus believable since he does in fact feel no loyalty to them.

Ray, you are not getting good pay at your job, I come and say I will pay you 100 million credits to screw over the operation you are working at. Wilson was greedy and an offer like that would make him betray.

Turian Council disagrees, Asari councilor has no opinion, Salarian Councilor agrees

I want to save/not save the council depending on where I stand.

This situation with Wilson happens out of the players control.  For the most part its over, doesn't need to be explained, there are more annoying things with these games in relation to plot devices than this setup. Shepard doesn't need to know everything at all times.

Sure, if somebody offered him 100 million credits I would accept that as a believable motive.  Again I guess I'll just have to pin my hopes on such a motive being mentioned in the Shadow Broker DLC or ME3.

That would be great if true. But why he is so dumb then to record such logs or atleast encrypt them so not everyone could hear them easily like sheaprdt did with his/her omnitool.

Do you know how many people get in trouble now for going to job hunting sites while at their job??  Do you know people have gotten fired for bad mouthing thier boss on Facebook, and forgetting their boss is a "Friend" and can read it.  Do you realise how many people think their work computer is actually pirivate to them and can't be looked at by their boss??  Do you realise how stupid someone gets with technology once they have it around long enought to think of it as "theirs" and forget how public it really is??

I can easily see Wilson having a "Personal" log, into which he pours his grievences out too forgetting that it may not be so "personal" on a Cerebrus computer.

It would have been nicer to have those logs as more hacking practice instead of just click to hear.

Yeah but I'd just be able to appreciate the story better if I know there's more cohesiveness to it.

Why would he shoot himself instead of just running to the escape pod?

To gain Jacob's sympathy vote, and there are no mechs present, nor any battle damage, not bleeding drag marks, meaning he hasn't moved. He's behind cover and the wound is apparently in the front, so if he was shot by mechs , it was cause he trying to projectile pee on them from acroos the room.

Ya, they should have made us hack his logs, all Wilson needed was Miranda listenting to his log calling her a cold hearted bit*ch lol.

Well considering the only evidence you have that Wilson actually is a traitor is Miranda's testimony. Maybe she held a grudge against him or something.

I hadn't thought of it before but somebody mention the side mission with the hacked mechs so that could possibly be what happened on the Cerberus station. They said Shepard wasn't finished 100%(hence the scars) so i doubt that TIM planned for the mechs to go hostel just to test Shep's combat skills.

And where he was, he could've easily just run to the shuttle by himself and took off, leaving Shep, Miranda, and Jacob to die.

The mech angle works because of the charisma that Miri projects, and she likely handpicked the team. He apparently tried to isolate her and overwhelm her and then escape in the confusion. He also isolated Shepard to get rid of him. Sounds conceivably like potentially Shadow Broker territory; find someone grumpy and give them a financial incentive. Divert suspicion from yourself with a wound, kill Shepard later, hell the shuttle cockpit looks sealed, he simply stays up front and spaces Jacob and Shepard.

Yeah, I guess as soon as he realizes Shepard is alive he has to stick around to make sure Shepard doesn't make it. If there was indeed some legitimate reason for him to want Shepard dead.

Wilson should have got some dead mechs and put it in the room, then shoot himself in the leg ^_^

He should have set everything to go crazy after he was off the station and spending his billions of credits, Dennis Nedry style! (although a Klixen may well have eaten his face after his greed forced him to detour and drop his guard...)
