If you read the calling, particularly the Epilogue, you know what i am talking about. Duncan will watch over him, he will be raised human, he will be told his mother had died..... Read Alistair's info. It seems like a very good possibility.

in "The Calling" Maric and an Elven Mage/Grey Warden do the deed. A child comes of it. The child is Human, and blond. The elven woman tells King Maric, and he wants them to be together. She has to go back to the wardens, however, and does not her son to grow up vying for the power of the throne. So Maric and Fiona agree to send the boy away to be raised as a human, and not as a noble. Duncan agrees to watch over the boy for maric, and report on his well being from time to time. They also agree on telling the boy his mother is dead. If you read Alistair's info, and look at the guy... It seems a very likely possibility. Maybe we will find out in the game.

Oh I have to agree! Compare Cailan and Alistair's faces.... It has to be. ;) This should get interesting, what's Anora to say about this? Oh boy! ^_^

One remark... According to the theory on human phenotypes, Alistair is a variety of redheads, not blond (called "Spring"). Blonds are like Zev, have a more ashen tint in their hair.

Which makes light red a logical hue for a half-elven child.

Seriously? This was created before the game came out!

And there's no such thing as a half-elf. It's a human with an elf parent and your hair theory makes no sense.

Um, agreed. There's been like a million threads on this already.

Also, I think someone matched up the timelines on some other thread and found they didn't match. Whilst this may well be Duncan/Eamon covering up for Maric, there's been speculation that Maric has ANOTHER Theirin heir out there. Some even believe this is Anders.

Hmmm... thought that biology laws apply everywhere. Maybe I'm wrong. Apologies.

The timeline is fubar'd and you can't go by codices for the truth in this situation. From what I understand, Gaider has confirmed a timeline/age for Alistair that puts him pretty squarely in the "can be Fiona's child" camp.

And he also indirectly kiboshed Anders as Fiona's son- he's a bit too old.

1) Biology laws don't apply to elves whose children have the species of the opposite parent.
2) Alistair's not a redhead.
3) Since all elves don't have the same color hair any more than humans do, what would Alistair's hair color have anything to do with the species of his mother?

Alistair's what you call a dirty blond. He's not as fair as Cailan but he's still quite fair. Not red, no.

The other recent(ish) thread has links and details. I won't repeat them here in a necro'ed thread but the other one isn't too stale if people want to kick it off again. It can be found here: http://social.biowar...7/index/3101500

As a nudge to check the thread out - the timeline that David Gaider says may not be too far off, has Rowan dead when Fiona+Maric's child is conceived. The in game details of Alistair's past say he was kept in Redcliffe to be kept secret from Rowan. The debate arises as to whether those details were fudged for some story. See the thread for more details.

As for Anders, Mr. Gaider has indeed said that Anders appears to be too old to be this potentially 'other' royal bastard. Something along the lines of people have placed too much emphasis on how he looks and sounds.

Without further ado I'll go lurk around that other thread in case someone adds something to the discussion.

This would make for some very interesting DLC on Alistair...especially the part where he's too young to run his self abusive commentary.

It would also cut the debate on whether or not the best part of him really did get left on his mother's leg.
