Went to C2E2 this past weekend, and among all the great action figure displays I stumbled across ones for the series 1 figure sets of Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins.

Below you'll find the ME2 pics... the others are posted in the DA:O general discussion forum HERE, if you're interested.

These look awful. Although I'm sure that these are just prototype models as proof of concept and that the final product will have a better paintjob.

They'd BETTER have a better paintjob, that is, if they want them to sell.

Thane looks better than the initial ad photo.  Glad they switched to the black outfit because the brown one looked awful on the figure.

Yeah, it's definitely not the greatest.  Worst case scenario, I buy them and repaint them myself.  ^_^;;

What I want to know is this - just how did no one working on these look at Sheploo and say "you know guys.....this looks absolutely nothing like him"?

Shep and Tali look terrible - is it just me, or does Tali look like she has thunder-thighs?

Grunt and Thane look good though.

they do look pree bad but the Grunt actually looks somewhat cool. I hate how some pictures/action figures make Thanes face soo pointy kinda, like in the jaw.

Grunt's body looks alright, but the face is still a little weird. The mouth is too big and the head protrudes outwards too much. His is the best one - the Shep and Tali ones look awful. What is up with Tali's lower body?

I'm starting to doubt placing that pre-order on these things now. I was hoping they weer going to improve the paint jobs and perhaps even the modelling, but aside from Thane they've all got worse.

Particularly a shame since the DAO ones look pretty damn good. Thinking perhaps I should get them instead now, even though I prefer the ME universe and characters.

Thane has killer calves. They're like Chun-Li's thighs. O_O

Grunt and Shepard look awful IMO, I sense alot of repaints coming up and a swap out head for Shepard!

I like Grunt and Thanes out of the four of them and I would have to see a better view of Tali. Good pictures btw OP.

I own just about everything ME related, and I really don't think I#ll bother with these.

They look just terrible.

I personally think they look pretty good >.> though Shepard doesn't look that much like himself, but that could be a licensing issue. For example, Star Wars Han Solo action figures have never looked like Harrison Ford because he/his agents wouldn't allow his likeness to be used. Given that Shep is based on a model there might be limitations to how his likeness can be used.

I suspect Tali's thunderthighs are due to an unflattering photo angle. I don't care much for her omni-tool though. It should be a more see-through plastic IMO.

I think I read Garrus will be included in the second series of figures. I don't remember who else will be in the second series.

I still want Tali and Thane for my desk >.>

Tali's chest is not that big. It's like she got Miranda and Samara's chest and fused them together.

As far as the quality and attention to detail in these figures, I rank them like this...

Thane > Grunt > Tali >>> Shepard

Thane is perfect IMO.
Besides the Toad-face, Grunt looks perfect.
Tali's body is out of proportion, and her visor/Omni Tool should've been made with semi-transparent plastic
Shepard looks absolutely terrible... He looks more like The Joker, Sander Cohen from Bioshock, or the guy from The Simpsons who says "Yesssssss?" than himself. And why is he wearing the original N7 Heavy Armor?

Whoever did them liked Dragon Age far greater then Mass Effect (have you even seen the DA:O ones? There pretty well done) When they went to do the Mass Effect 2 characters they did there favorite one first, Thane. Then they did Grunt, after Grunt they got ether extremely lazy or got drunk and angry at BioWare for trolling the community in not letting us see Tali's face so they made her have lard legs.

When they went to Shepard they were like. **** it, I only ever played a Female Shepard and.... -hick- Male Shepard is a collage jock.

Tali comes with an orange Nintendo Power Glove? Sweet.

Thane looks pretty damn cool, Grunt looks okay, Shepard...christ, they should have gone with a helmet.

If I recall correctly, the second wave will have Garrus, Mordin, Legion, and Miranda. Starting preorders in August, shipping in December. If they tend toward Thane-level of quality, I'm gonna end up buying like 75% of them. It seems like they do better with a nonhuman face *scrolls back up again...shudders* Yeah, definitely got more optimism for the aliens.

Yep, they DEFINITELY liked Dragon Age more than Mass Effect...

* Compulsively looks at Shepard figure again*
