Well. now, it all depends on what you're looking for, a toy or a collectable, women tend to spend tons of cash on planters, vases and all those cheesy "make-your-home-warmer" stuff, guys like the more cooler stuff like lythos' and collectables, i think you can figure which one of those are cool and which suck... :D.

I highly beg to differ.  <_<  Not all of us females want a warm Martha Stewart wannabe cottage home with pink ceramic planters shaped like bunnies and candles that smell like cookies and pies.  SOME of us want gigantic SR2 models on the mantle, life-sized Jurrassic Park raptor heads bursting out of the wall above our huge flatscreen TVs, and a Batmobile parked in the garage.

Yes, this is my dream... well, a small portion of it, anyway.  <3

They look horrible....Why oh why do they look like toys for children? This is an adult game and they make toys? Wheres the logic I ask? Some of the older McFarlanes Toys look way better!

Hey now... hold on there, she talked to me first ;)!

Anywho, i was just stereotyping :P, and to be frank, it's not like your category is in the majority tho'. I love that way of thinking, it gives us hope for finding that "special someone" ,heh.

 I apologize...

"Now go back into the kitchen and bake me some eggs and bacon woman, can't go saving the galaxy on an empty stomach now, can we :D." (it's morning)

 Take care!

Haha, you do have a point.  We are a rare breed, indeed.

Eggs?  Bacon?  That's what Mess Sergeant Gardner's for.  Point me in the direction of the sniper rifles... I'm off to clear out some collector ships.  ;)

Hell no', i wouldn't eat that guy's food after hearing about his "extracurricular" duties on that blasted ship .

You go do that, while i go clear out their main base, sugah' :P!

 'Nough with the off-topic.

I do hope that at some point in time they'll release some worthy collectables, if not... screw it!

 Take care guys'n girls!

Oh, I'm fully aware of the quality Hot Toys puts out. I have their Appleseed figures myself; well worth the price. But think of it from the average person's standpoint, someone who might only get a figure once in a blue moon because it's from something they really love. Most people aren't going to be willing to pay such high price tags if they aren't big collectors. Like I said, even I kind of hesitate putting down more than 70-80 for one thing, and I'm not exactly the best at restraining myself when it comes to figures.

It just wouldn't make that much sense to put out sets of extremely high quality toys when the market for them isn't all that large. Now, something along the line of NECA's BioShock figures (yes, I know I mentioned them already; I love them to death) at about $20 a piece would be much more feasible, and still very good quality. And with that lower price more people would certainly consider buying them, thereby justifying making them in the first place.

I would argue that as the fanbase for Mass Effect is likely in the 18-30 age bracket for the most part that BioWare/EA would make more money off more expensive detailed figures that collectors would actually purchase than from cheap childrens toys that hardly anyone will bother with.

Seriously, who here can actually picture some 8 year old asking his mommy and daddy for a Commander Shepard action figure with kung-fu grip? Now how many here would actually spend $75-100 for an ultra-detailed Tali or Normandy SR1/SR2 model? (note that my hand is raised)

So instead of getting $75-100 from me, they get nothing because I won't waste my time with those.

As sayed before - those figures are a compleate mistake, I'm absolutely sure that higly detailed collecting figures would sell better. Who the hell even got the idea of making those styled action figures? The game iteself is 18+, only hardcore fans will buy it (cep for that Shepard one - those will only be bought by blind people).

A produc like this is 100% fans oriented - because someone who don't know what Mass Effect is won't find them interesting at all, and since we are talking fans - I'm sure that they would sooner shell out twice as much as this pice of crap costs if it would look decent.

And really, those figures remind me of crappy russian and chineese imitations - the only avalivle toys/figures back in the times when I was a kid (where I live)... StarWars characters in boxes with anime characters on it, rubber power rangers with messed up collors...

Whoever is doing marketing for Mass Effect franchise should know it - you sir (or you people) are on the best way to reaching that level of product. Those are crap.

those models don't look good at all.
I've been thinking about buying them for a long time now but i decided not to.
I really think that these look rather than children toys than collector action figures.
There details are very poor :(
