I hope that you are joking. However, Tali annoys me so I may be biased. Her hero-worship of Shepard just makes me want to puke at times, especially considering that her fan-girl tendencies can translate into an actual relationship.

Dunno, I don't mind differenciating best pairing and best romance.

I can't for the life of me enjoy Tali's hero worship. She still has a ridiculously cute romance scene, though.

Same goes for Thane. Poignant romance scene, insane pairing.

Garrus' scene seemed the best written to me. For once, the character does not have to suck face to show affection!

Crudeness aside, it avoids a Nora Roberts reenactment, giving it a depth without resorting to default expressions of love.

Garrus' is by far my favourite. On my first playthrough I romanced Jacob (the horror), but then I watched all the other romance scenes on youtube and decided to go for Garrus next since his scene actually made me laugh. Since then, I've romanced him on all my subsequent playthroughs so I guess I’m kind of biased now.



I don’t know who has the best romance scene with manshep. Maybe Jack’s? It’s quite touching, although I’m not sure if she’s my favourite female love interest. I actually like Miranda a lot.

Of all the romances I like Garrus' the best, but Thane's is enjoyable though. I don't romance him that often though because I feel guilty. Poor Thane finally found peace in dying and then Shep rides in to gum up the works. I haven't ever played ManShep but I watched all the romance scenes on YouTube and I liked Tali and Jacks. Miranda's was kinda bah, and I won't even talk about Jacob's.

Jack takes 2nd, Garrus takes 1st. They seem to be the only two that aren't really just booty-calls. I mean I know that Garrus' started out that way, but when you watch the scene, it shows that he really does hold some actual, strong feelings. Jack's was also pretty genuine, but I can't overlook the fact its based off of the "I'm ****ed up in the head, and having a romantic relationship with me is the only therapy" type thing. I've been stuck in that situation before... *shivers*

Hmmm...don't know if this was mentioned before, but...

I quite liked Kaidan, Ashley, Thane, and Tali's romance scenes in which Shepard doesn't snog them.  It can be seen as Shep taking care of them (Tali might become ill right before a huge mission; Thane needs to be pulled out of his near-despair, etc).  That was really well done.

And, no, it's not because I hate sex between game characters.  (My achievements can back me up on this one.)

If we are talking Mass Effect 2 here I gotta go with the scene where Shepard stares at Ashley's photo. It's quiet and it's got mood and atmosphere and it really helped make Shepard feel like an actual character when he demonstrates a slightly vulnerable side.

Second best though, Jack's... easily. It's the only one of the female love interests where sex has nothing to do with it, and instead it's all about emotions. Seriously I've looked at that scene again and again and I cannot convince myself that it's a sex scene, it's a romance scene it's implied that no sex took place and it was otherwise a tender and moving scene that invoked an actual emotional response out of me.

And if we are talking either game here... Ashley. A million times Ashley.

The best romance scenes in ME? I would go for the ME 1 romances, why? Well, thats because, in ME 1 the romance scene reflects the 18+ pg on ME.... In ME 2, it is just some silly 13+ pg romance scenes, even though the game is 18+ pg.

Honestly', i don't care much for the romance scene itself, but what it represent, realism and feel. With crappy 13+pg sceenes it doesn't feel right for the game, and i lose a bit of the connection in the game.  I would prefer if ME 3 game back with the ME 1 style romance scenes, the Mass Effect series are a  18+ pg game after all.

18+ pg...realy? ME 1 & 2 are only R13+ where I live (NZ). Although the age rating on the actual box not the sticker is 15+. Your rating system must be very different.

Speaking of ratings in the US the ESRB rated ME1&2 M for Mature (17+). I tend to agree that they shouldn't be afraid of putting rating appropriate content in but you can't blame them for not doing so after that stupid C*%& got on Fox News and said that stupid bull****. Of course her credibility was destroyed in the process; just look at her book reviews on Amazon.
