[Commander Kurt]

I liked Garrus because it was well written, made me laugh quite a bit. But I honestly found the scene with the picture (Kaidan) to be the most touching. There's actually some love there, the others I felt were more friendship/sex.

edit/ I almost forgot, one of the best reasons for taking cold showers in ME2 (sticking with Kaidan, in my case) is getting Mordin to let you down easy. Priceless.

Jacob was very hard to talk to, the whole "come to mama" routine put me off a lot more than anything he said, BUT I loved the fact that when I actually tried talking to him long enough to turn him down he took it well and became a real friend instead.

I'd say just about any romance can be played like a one night stand if that's what Shep's after.  With the possible exceptions of Paragoned Jack since that takes a lot of soul-searching, and rekindling Liara's in ME2.  But equally, any romance can be played as more than a one-night stand.

From ME2 only: photo frame (I am very biased here) - it was unexpected, I didn't even know that there is photo frame; and silent, and...

From ME2 LIs: Thane. Sense that it wasn't a one-night feeling and both Shep and Thane fully aware that they're doing helped a lot

yeah because femShep + Garrus = everyone on drugs right ? Nevermind Shep and Liara, where you actually have to have a conversation about the  "us until now " and "what hereafter"...

Liara from the ,well, basically three romance scenes there are with her. The first in ME1, the second with the photo in ME2 and the third aboard the Normandy after Lair of the Shadow Broker.

They aren't all one-night stands:

-Garrus' started as a casual sex thing, but it was evident during the romance scene that it was more than that to Garrus. I'd say more an emotional connection. Afterall, we don't even know if they actually did anything but the headbump, but whatever they could've done was an emotional charged. Imo it was better than 2 of the three ME1 romances.

-Thane was "hold me and baby me because my wife is dead", which tbh I don't see why they would have him romanceable, especially exclusively for FemShep (you can argue it makes more sense for a maleshep). Sorta lame, yes, but no booty-call. If it was about sex, Thane could've slipped into solipsism. Never really liked it, but it wasn't a bootycall.

-Jacob's was, well, you guys know. The porno-flick lines don't help its credibility. <_<

-Tali's seemed pedobearish. I mean, she could be like only 18, and Shepard is 29/31. And the whole focus of the previous dialogue is "Should we do it?" instead of "Touchy feely blah blah blah". I feel its a booty call, since you can basically take advantage of her naivety and drop her flat on her face afterwards.

-Miranda's was straight to sex, so that doesn't help. But to its credit there were signs of romantic feelings from Miranda. Still, afterward you can blow her off and say it was just about sex.

-Jack's didn't feel like a booty call to me. There was all the dialogue saying it wasn't about sex beforehand, some coming after turning down casual sex. The whole scene was based on emotion, and there was apparently no sex. It was completely emotionally charged, like Garrus' and Thane's, even if it was based off the "have sex with me to fix my head" thing, which, although unfortunately real, sorta hurts the scene.

That just my take. Hitting a solid .500 is pretty good, even if it is a step-backwards from ME1.

Jack's is probably my favorite, in terms of emotional impact and dialogue, although the awkward dry humping lent the scene an air of clumsiness and ridiculousness that I felt it could easily have done without. Honestly it would have been just as impactful with just a kiss and a hug, considering Jack's character.

And although it wasn't a sex scene, I think LotSB had some pretty great romantic dialogue for Liaramancers. Especially the paragon interrupt in the SB ship where she's talking about how it's been two years, you're different people, etc. Then..."okay...okay." "Okay." Best use of interrupts ever.

You obviously haven't played ME1. If you had you would see where Bioware dropped the ball on the Romances(One Night Stands for ME2) and how it was a HUGE step back from what they accomplished in ME1.

That' not the point. The point is he stated that Thane does not care about Shepard, he cares only about his wife and his romance is about sex and LotSB proved that. I proved that he is wrong. About Ash and Kai, I diagree. Liara in fact does. Ash and Kai didn't get as much treatment as Liara did in ME2 nor do they have a DLC, Liara does that continues her romance. Which is why they need a DLC very badly, if Ash and Kai go into ME3 like they are now, then that does not bode well at all, and it's a kick in the quad to there fans.

You can't hope to compare the YEARS he spent with his dead wife, not to mention his picture perfect memory, as well as the Child they had together to a One Night Stand with Shepard with Thane KNOWING that he will die in a Year. There IS no future for Thane and Shepard outside of sex and Shepard seeing Thane die before ME3.



I said the Liara Romance was Clingy. That's a fact. In ME1 it was Love At First Sight for her, even if you shun her, after Rescueing her and she makes mention of this(Hell, she's fine with Shareing Shepard if it means she can be with him/her). In the Comic she can't get over losing Shepard and ends up giving up his body to Cerberus despite their racism and the fact that they were enemies to the Crew in ME1. Not to mention that Cerberus did little to nothing to help retrieve Shepard's body anyway. In ME2 she lost a lot of her Clingyness, it's been two years, but you can still feel the vibes. Such as when you first meet her in Illium.



I won't even get started on how wrong and disgusting it is to Romance Tali. Cradle Robber much?
