I like Tali's romance the best, but maybe it's because I'm Talidoctrinated. Image IPB

Miranda is my favorite ME2 romance, but the engine room...I don't know^_^

All I could think of when I saw that was how much the decking would hurt and the bruises it would leave. Image IPB

I was under the opinion that the Tali one was the best one, because it felt the most natural, some of the other ones had a habit of feeling forced. That was until I saw the 'renegade' version of the Miranda one, where you can 'get' a passionate kiss out of her in her office. That scene made the whole romance make more sense, at least in my head (lol) and bumped it to my favourite.

Obviously the Liara one has the best production values. It was specifically designed, and a late entry, so I feel it's unfair to hold the 'vanilla' romances up to the same standard.

The cut to the Illusive Man in ME2 would always be a mood killer no matter how sensual the preceding scene was.

Hmmm, let's  vote TIM for LI in ME-3 ? That would take care of that problem .... plus, he is smoking hot ? And has a rather presidential voice ?

*shudder*

Well the "Tali" lovesene as the most natural ? Colour me ... blue with mirth ? Incombatible biological makeup (where's Mordin's sage advice of "don't .. ahem...ingest" when you need it ?), one partner is guaranteed to end up sick for days - nevermind staright before a key mission to save the galaxy , extreme teenage crush on her superior + disorientation  caused by breaking with one's cultural roots +  pre-battle stress going emotionally awry...

The sole overrrding theme I sensed was more like "I am not gonna die a Quarian virgin, you Bosh'tet  !" If that is "natural" and normal to you..... I extend my sympathies. And possibly a restraint order^^

Amazing, isn't it? The quality between Miranda's paragon and renegade romance is like night and day. I drowned in the bucketloads of cheese and bad porn lines for the paragon one, but was actually impressed by the spontaneity and the dynamism of the renegade romance, which is pretty hard to convey in realism-based animations. In terms of technicalities like a sense of natural motion and smoothness of animation, I thought the sex scene wasn't so badly animated either.

They've known each other for quite some time and with all they've been through it'd be way more natural for a strong relationship to form out of it than some of the other ones that start of as one night stands.

I was talking more about the whole chain of events rather than the love scene it self. It has a natrual, believable flow to it. And no, I don't see it as a teenage crush at all. It started out that way perhaps, but like garrus, it grows into something more.

Obviously a large part of the romance animation budget was spent on Mirandas and jacobs to some degree (lol jacob) romances, I think it shows. Both of them even had unique models created for them as well.

I cannot remember what life was like before I found out about that kiss scene. I'd done the whole romance without even knowing it existed.

I don't even want to think about it.

That would depend on your definition of "best" which varies from person to person depending on a number of factors like interpretive characterization and the nature of their Shepard (and if/how much the player projects onto that Shepard.)

I like all of them for what they are and for the different characters involved.

Edit: but since you asked for an opinion, as far as my personal favorite goes... hm. Thane's.

gonna have to go with this: "best" very subjective. i <3 the ME1 LIs best (kaidan, liara, ashley), with Tali and Garrus coming a close second. the reason? to me they have a better story arc through the 2 games and more room for you to develop a shepard who really fits with those romances. even WITH horizon (Gah) there is more interesting story there. while the other ME2 characters are interesting, the romances are really rushed, imo.

To be honest, I like a romance that has a bump in the road. The Kaiden/Ashley romance has the potential to be the best if BioWare handles in right. It could also end up disappointing, but I have faith in the writers.

Despite all the mockery of it, I actually enjoy Jacob's romance, though that be because of the fact that seeing a strong, assertive woman take charge is incredibly hot...

Samara has the best romance scene. It's the most realistic.

Samara: You're... A good friend.

Shep: But we have a connection...

Samara: Puh-leeze

Tali. She gets all flustered, but once Shepard removes the mask and likes what she sees, she pounces on him.

I laughed, I cried, I got out the KY, etc.

I prefer Miranda. I try to go for someone else, but eventually I just go back to her simply because I think that out of all the squad mates in the two games, she's his equal.

I can't roleplay as females though, so I really don't have opinions on them.

I'm concerned that unless Chris Le'toille comes back to write for Ashley her character will suffer which means the romance involving her will suffer.  I don't want to think this way, but with the Horizon situation I can't let myself get hopeful.

Female LI: It's difficult to choose, because each has it's own qualities. But out of all the LI's, the one that really got to me was Tali's. Not necessarily the scene itself (which I did like), but just the fact that she'd been by your side in both games and that it really was a "love" scene as opposed to a "f***" scene if you know what I mean. I also think out of all the romances, Tali's is the most indicative of a long lasting relationship.

Male LIs: Jacob. Because, well...
