Because she wanted to ****** off Jack and let Mordin watch;

Jack: *beats the ceiling with a broom* Knock it off you two! I'm trying to plot my revenge down here!

Mordin:*Looks out of window*...oh my...shouldn't watch, but must...FOR SCIENCE.

FOR SCIENCE!!...I rather like that one.

I mean, am I right that that's the ONLY romance scene that doesn't take place in Shepard's quarters?

There has to be a reason.

Samara's "scene" is in her quarters. But that doesn't actually count, so, yes.

Yeah... but wasn't Jack's renegade sex scene down below engineering in the pit?

Still, that wasn't one of the scenes that took place before the Omega 4 relay (all the serious ones do) so I feel like it doesn't count, either.

I'm fairly certain you can't actually see the section of engineering from either Mordin's, Jacob's, Thanes, 'Poor NPC's' room. The orb blocks the view.

Also just as certain you can't see any of those rooms from the engine control panel, as the orb once again blocks the view.

Yeah, I ran around to their respective rooms and tried really hard to sneak a peak into the engine room...no go.

I suspect she finds the idea of sex in a workplace environment erotic.

People seem to use this as an excuse to say Miranda's romance wasn't as meaningful as the others - that it kinda proves it was more about sex, and nothing else.

However Jacob's romance, which I thought seemed like it was geared more toward the physical aspect as well, had a sex scene which took place in Shepard's quarters just like all the others...

could it be as well a bit of a symbolic thing doing it in the engine room which is the heart of the ship and is the most alive part of ship.

She could be showing that he is her heart or something

That would not be a good thing. It would just make the sex shorter.

Wait, what? Doing something you find hot with a consenting partner makes the relationship less meaningful? A better argument would be the relative lack of conversation. But the sex itself?

To quote the great Rick James

She's super-freaky, yow"

That sums it up for me

Do not hold cybernetically modified Shepard and genetically enhanced Miranda to your pitiful human standards of sexual stamina.

Mass Effect fields.

Mass Effect fields are a very strong aphrodesiac. I wanted to be as close to the Mass Effect core (...and as close to Shepard) as I could get.

When I want aphrodesiacs, I settle for nothing but the best.

No seriously, I've heard people say this! I don't agree with it - not after the hug scene, I lurves it so! - but people have said it.
