All the characters do that (with the rachni queen too), it's a programming thing to make sure one squadmate supports the pro and con of any situation.

Seeing Ashley support saving the rachni queen for once was pretty trippy...

*sigh* Okay, slightly more, uhhh, seriously.

It's an impulsive act, and she's pretty much a control freak. All about being perfect. It's an effort to prove she's changed, let go of her past issues and worries and is comfortable with not being the Perfect Cerberus Poster Girl. Maybe. She did after all clear the engine room first, not just march in with Shepard in tow and order everyone out.

It's a little funny for me to see some people jump on Miranda (pun intended) by implying she's a ***** for wanting her sex in the engine room but no one points out the fact the Shepard went along with. This has the scent of double standard all over and honestly I can't see how Miranda could respect Shepard as her commander much less as a man after all the nasty things she did to him.

She likes the vibration from the engine. If the Normandy's laundry room was available they'd prolly get in on in there. Normandy's washers have one hell of a spin cycle!

I think she choose engine because it is a natural loction. If they did it in ether one of there room one might have thought the other had more power. In the engine room they where equals

Overall, it is kinda silly that she chose that area; both Shepard and her have their own private rooms with no-doubt comfortable space-memory foam beds, which would be more ideal for an intimate moment. Unless she was simply more interesting in "having sex" than "making love", then a public area like the engine room would simply be more erotic. 

I personally think the most likely reason is that she wanted to let to send a message to the rest of the crew--specifically the other LIs--that Shepard and her were together. 

Jacob and Mordin both have windows that view the engine room.

Mabye Miranda is a pornstar and wants to put on a show for the whole crew!  Lol  seriosuly though, it wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to do it in the CIC.

Exactly, I originally think the main reason Miranda chose the engine room is because she thought that's the only place it's not bugged. But what made me feel weird is why shepard went with it without asking why. maybe this also proves Jack and Tali wasn't near the engine room??
