The mako was awesome, and had they added the ability to customise it further it would have been perfect. Putting on your own paintjob is essential (for the Go Faster red stripes).

Sweet! The one and only 40k factoid I actually know!

Edit: Oh, and the mako during story missions was pretty sweet, but on uncharted worlds, kinda sucked.
I think that might have more to do with how lame the uncharted worlds were then the mako itself.

Upgrading the Mako would've been sweet.

One final ME DLC?

Mako wasnt the problem, the terrain was. Why did they have to put so many montains everywhere ?

This. So much this. I spent most of time finding a way up a god damn mountain than I did shooting things. Got old fast.

I wish the Mako was a robotic mountain goat, able to leap and bound over any terrain.

Comparing Mako and Hammerhead, both were nice, but terrain sucked.

In Hammerhead's case b/c because it isn't open terrain, and in Mako's, because of the mountains

Would love Hammerhead in ME1 terrain.

I don't think the actual controls with the mako are fine, but its collision physics are weird, like when hitting geth armatures and colossim they can stick to it, and when you hit rocks it flies up in the air, but the controls themselves are fine.

This is my stance as well.  The Mako is a blast to play with, but it's the terrain that annoys the hell out of me.  Give me some wide open spaces with squishy mortals to splatter and geth to crush!

This.

My biggest problem is that the Mako was essentially useless. With Noveria and Feros, you could have circumvented it with a cutscene. With UNC quests, you could just get Joker to drop you off closer to the place you wanted to go. All the planets looked the same, with just different textures, and you didn't do anything except go from Point A to Point B, get whatever you need and leave. I'd like the Mako more if they actually did something with it, besides replacing walking.

I liked Mako. It did have that trolley in bouncy castle physics and was way too easy to fight with infinite range hitscan weapons against the poor Geth with their slow rockets and energy bolts, but other than that, it added atmosphere and made the world feel larger. Driving around a bit under an alien sky really gives the feel that you are on another world.

Hammerhead is not much of a replacement. Feels more detatched driving that thing around and it's still way too easy, probably even easier than Mako. Should have just fixed Mako. Make the cannon shoot projectiles instead of being instahit. Maybe even projectiles with trajectory. Fix physics. This would also involve fixing the terrain, which probably would be the hard part.
