My HN got engaged to Anora, then was able to break up with Leli with no approval loss at all.

If I had to marry Anora, I'd like to keep my love-muffin on the side. Posted Image

You could understand why she has a problem with that, though, and needs to be hardened and persuaded to stay with you?

I don't see why Lel would have a problem with that.  Anora will NOT romance anyone - not even females (I've tried).  She's cold period.  Don't see why Lel would be threatened by that.

She would never get to have an official relationship with you, only serve as a mistress and her lover chose power over her. Sure he/she wants both but if Leliana refuses are they really going to call off the wedding? No. It's clear what's more important to them.

But it's not about getting power for the sake of having power - for my GW, it's about survival of the Grey Wardens in Ferelden and defeating the darkspawn.  In order to reach those goals, taking power is a necessity rather than a desire on my part.  I care not for the administration of an empire, I just want no political interference with my GW mission . . . plus have my cupcake on the side!  Posted Image

I guess it is as Wynne once said that love is ultimately selfish.  Leliana wants my love to herself and only herself.  Is she being selfish?  Yes.  But I can't fault her for that in all honesty.  Uggghhh . . . the decisions . . . and the agony of it all!!!!

I got a -45 Approval hit from Zevran when I talked to him after Leliana forced me to choose between the two of them. The issue is that I've not had the Talissen encounter yet and am worried that Zevran will switch sides on me (then I'll have to kill him).

Fortunately, I had a Camp save prior to talking to Zevran; so I reloaded and Zevran is still at 100 Adore and I have Leliana as my LI. As long I don't talk to Zevran, he'll remain so - hopefully till AFTER the Talissen encounter.

The romances are such a juggling act.  I think you have to decide from the beginning who you're going to romance and how you want the story to end.  And of course, sex and race of your PC complicates things.

Keep his approval rating above 75 and he won't switch sides.

Or you could put a hardened Alistair on the throne and advise him (you know he'll listen to you) and he would never even consider NOT doing whatever it took to help the GW survive and defeat the Blight (well, unless Loghain lives but if he's King Loghain dies).

Really, it's about power and she has to be talked into it as she doesn't appreciate being forever 'on the side.' Being a dirty little secret - or even an open secret - is really going to get old at some point.

It's a bug.  There are a few places where Leliana is supposed to react differently when she's hardened, but it doesn't happen.  Even her declaration of love is supposed to be different if she is hardened.  I have the fix for it in two places, both in my ZDF mod, but if you don't want to use it, I also have it as a standalone mod (both DT and non-DT compatible are in this archive -- pick ONE and delete the other).  I have to thank blademaster7 for finding those!

There are a couple of other changes as well, but they're only relevant if you're romancing Zevran.

Edit: That is the meanest breakup EVER!

You think that's being selfish but not you putting your desire for power before her but wanting her to stick around anyway isn't selfish?
