In Mass Effect 1, we had Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: TNG - Counselor Troi).  In Mass Effect 2, we had Michael Dorn (Star Trek: TNG - Lt. Worf).  Also, there was Armin Shimmerman (Star Trek: DS9 - Quark) playing clean-up.

For sake of spoilers, I won't say what parts or if something happened to the characters.  This got me thinking: what other actors from the Star Trek franchise could Bioware recruit for Mass Effect 3?

My suggestions along with character concepts (far-fetched ones I know):
  • Brent Spiner (Star Trek: TNG - Data): a Salarian scientist fascinated with Geth technology and cybernetics
  • LeVar Burton (Star Trek: TNG - Lt. Com. La Forge): a recluse Quarian ship builder whose prototyping new ship engines and weaponry
  • Rene Auberjonois (Star Trek: DS9 - Odo): a Spectre tasked with policing Shepard as a form of Internal Affairs
  • Colm Meaney (Star Trek: DS9 - Chief O'Brien): an Irish transport pilot with a short temper and prone to fighting
  • Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager - Doctor): a Turian politician promoting war against humans and banishment from the Citadel
  • Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager - Seven of Nine): a Asari Justicar that has gone rogue
  • Jolene Blalock (Star Trek: Enterprise - Sub-Com T'Pol): sister of Ashley Williams; member of Alliance military
  • Connor Trinneer (Star Trek: Enterprise - Com. Tucker): Billy, a prisoner from space prison Purgatory
Curious what other people might think. I focused on Star Trek but there are other sci-fi franchises. Pick a notable voice and make a suggestion.

Those are good suggestions, all of these people have distinctive voices and I'd love to hear any of them in ME3. Your character concepts are interesting as well, and I don't think they are THAT far fetched...

I'm surprised Ron Pearlman hasn't appeared in a ME game yet...

Ben Browder (Cam Mitchell from SG-1) - Mayhaps the captain of an alliance ship, or someone from the alliance anyway.

The actor I think who has golden tonsils is Michael Ironside. However he IS Sam Fisher for me so maybe not..... I get chills when I think of him saying "oh yeah" with that gravelly voice when you top up his health (I'm missing this very aspect in SC:Conviction).

Vote Jon St John for Mass Effect 3. You know it makes sense.

"I'll break a broom handle off in your ass" was surprisingly well delivered

I actually think Robert Picardo's voice would suit a salarian better personally. Perhaps a salarian doctor or politician.

Stargate wise, Richard Dean Anderson playing a casual and rather blase Colonel would be neat. Christopher Judge could make a good krogan, as could Jason Momoa of Atlantis fame. David Hewlett as a salarian scientist would work well.

I'd love to hear Nathan Fillion in there somewhere, perhaps as another quarian to fit in with Kal'Reegar. They got him for Jade Empire, so it's not like he's a stranger to a BioWare game. Any of the other Firefly/Serenity actors would be good too. Morena Baccarin's voice would make a great asari, especially a refined Matriarch or Matron for instance.

Bruce Boxleitner has a rather distinctive voice, and him as an Alliance Admiral would be awesome, particularly given the parallels between B5 and Mass Effect. Claudia Christian would probably make a neat, hard-assed asari, or even a female Alliance Military officer.

Nah, Richard Dean Anderson would be a intelligent and fast thinking Salarian who doesn't like guns, and can fix and make useful devices out of mundane objectsImage IPB

The question is, could a game of already grand proportions handle such concentration of awesome? The universe as we know it might end...

I generally do not like 'name' VAs for the most part, even if they are actors I like. Whenever I talk to Bailey on the Citadel, I can't stop thinking of Michael Hogan's other character, Saul Tigh.

Some of the VAs in ME2 were okay, I didn't know it was them until I saw the IMDb page. Tricia Helfer, Carrie-Anne Moss and Adam Baldwin were not distracting in their roles.

Shatner would have to be some crazy psychotic person. They won't get him anyway, as most people can't stand his stilted prose.

Patrick Steware would just try to negotiate with the reapers over, and I quote "Earl Grey, hot".
You can guess where that gets him.

He will defeat them without firing a shot by using the power of a Cpt. Picard speech? I woudn't mind borrowing his ship btw, it's the Enterprise!

His Enterprise is pretty useless. Plus its as ugly as hell

I'd definately go with the new movie one.
