It's amazing how many people think democracy means "Everybody has to do things my way!!"
This is what happens when government/civics classes are cut from high school curriculums, or parents are allowed to homeschool children.
Disclaimer: I'm born and raised in Belgium (yes its part of "old Europe", no I don't hate the US) and have never visited the US, so excuse me if I make false assertions.
I think it goes further than home schooling, I have the distinct impression that there is a "anti-intellectual" movement in mostly right leaning United States political spectrum. For example I distinctly remember that during the 2004 presidential election Fox News made a big stink about the fact that John Kerry knew a second language (I think French but I'm not sure), as if knowing a secondary language is a bad thing. Or the seemingly inability to teach children the theory of evolution without controversy.
In such a climate I'm hardly surprised that there are people like the tea baggers (really they went with that name). What boggles my mind however is that they (or at least some of them) seem to lack a sense of decency that they feel it is their right to attack a person who's only error in judgment was to leave one voicemail with some stern wording in it. A personal letter of complaint maybe, but not harassing him, and getting him fired.
Could you imagine what chaos would every organization would react that way, Microsoft alone would have a entire division doing nothing but harassing people and their employers.

I just hope that EA / BioWare show more backbone if they ever come calling for to change Legions voice.
I don't think they would stand to earn/lose any money by doing so... I'd like to think that the gaming community that couldn't care less what someone's opinion is and care more about the quality of work. (OF COURSE, THIS COULD BE WISHFUL THINKING.)
GEICO's a business, first and foremost, so I can't really be too shocked that they'd react this way to politically-charged douchebaggery and protect their profits. But it's not the FreedomWorks' status as a political organization that resulted in this happening, it was the fact that the organization is composed of consumers whose prerogative it is to choose their insurance provider for whatever reasons they like. On that side, I can only imagine that the action of those in support of Mr. Douglas making a difference if they likewise told GEICO that they're considering moving to another insurance provider due to their actions/would buy their insurance if they took him back on.
What actually boils my potatoes is that the organization gave out his cell phone number for the purpose of harassing him. Not classy at all. Not sure what the laws are in California on this front, but he's entitled to whatever legal recourse he can get.
I feel like the Tea Party movement has, for the most part, been demonized, but they're not doing themselves any favors by being vindictive like this.
I don't see how making sweeping generalizations about homeschooling is relevant to the topic at hand or makes one a better person than a "teabagger," but then I may have missed something during state-mandated daycare. :C

What astounds me is how the MSM is considering a group whose primary modus operandi is bullheaded refutation of facts with easily exposed falsehoods, bullying, heckling, harassing, amnesia to any events before January 20, 2009, and ideology contrary to reality.... as a legitimate political movement. <_<

You don't **** with Albert Wesker, son.
Plus this falls into the category of 'messing with the Commander's crew'- which, as we all know, never ends well and generally involves a few massive explosions.
....
Or at least a lot of very angry letters. >.>

The voice actor left a message for the company, FreedomWorks, telling them that he was against racism and homophobia, and left his name and telephone number, if anyone wanted to get back to him. The company apparently watched his Facebook, saw that he announced that he got the GEICO ad job a few weeks later, and only then decided to involve the Tea Party, by asking members to call him on his cellphone and also call GEICO and get him fired. GEICO didn't like the publicity, and recast the part in the ad campaign.

This is where our dear boy Wesker goofed up.
Still, that's no excuse for what those douchebags did to him.
