I prefer to go with the following:

Material - Last

Tint 1 - Black (last)

Tint 2 - Grey (first)

Pattern - None

Pattern Color - White

I use the Recon Hood, the entire setup makes me look like some SpecOps infiltrator sort of person.

If I remember correctly...
Material - last on slider
Tint 1 - dark red
Tint 2 - grey
Pattern - none
Pattern Color - grey

This gave me the unintentional color scheme of Ohio State University, but I kept it anyway.

Usually get the shield harness, heavy damping gauntlets, and stimulator conduits to go with it. Also the visor, but don't like the way it looks, just need it as an infiltrator.

"I... AM... IRON MAN"

Material - (dont remember, one of the two shiny ones)
Tint 1 - deep red
Tint 2 - gold
Pattern - none
Pattern Color - gold

That's what I use on my Vanguard.

Looks better once you get different arms equipped so there isn't the thick gold strip going down the right arm as is by default.

I like the Recon Helmet too.

My style is very similar to themastakillah's second option in the yellow variety. However, my pattern is the 2 solid lines coming through the armor which are also yellow. Kind of a cerberus theme.

Mine is simple.

Material: First

Tint 1: Default Grey

Tint 2: Dark Green

Pattern: Dark Green

Usually accompanied by the Strength Boost Pads.

Very simple but professional looking, kind of has a military look to it.

Depends on the class for me...

For an Infiltrator and Soldier I would go for the camo pattern, and change the colors and glossiness depending on the level... Though I would usually choose the least glossy.

I also have a sort of "color coding" which I assign to the pattern color (unless playing soldier or infiltrator as stated above and using camo pattern), I use the three base colors (red, yellow, blue) for the three "pure" classes (soldier, engineer, adept respectively), and mixes of these colors (purple, orange, green) for the "hybrid" classes (vanguard, infiltrator, sentinel).

In addition, I would generally go for a sort of construction vehicle yellow scheme for the Engineer, and striking colors (electric blue, bright red etc) for a Vanguard. Adept and Sentinel would probably get a more subtle color treatment, but still wouldn't be your usual black/grey outfit, at least not for the entire scheme.

I never assign bright colors to Color 2 (includes the spine on the armor) because it makes mechanical, functional areas of the armor look weird... I don't even go for full black, just metallic greys and similar tints.

I tinkered around for probably 30 mins to an hour trying to find my perfect N7 armor on my Vanguard and finally came up with a sweet pitch black/blood red suit. Off the top of my head I used:

Normal N7 helmet

Aegis Vest

Strength Boost Pads

Stabilization Gauntlets

Life Support Webbing

First Pattern Option, Last Material Option, pitch black as the main color and blood red as the secondary as well as the pattern color. No pics here.
