After ME3? Heh, if I have anything to say about it my Shep will be done saving the galaxy.

Thats the point where you grab the girl and run off with her.

It depends how it all plays out...if given the option I would rather kill TiM and take over Cerberus. That way I can operate outside of the established network and get things done my way.

No way in hell, they have let me down enough in 1 and 2, to make forcing a player to suddenly get back in bed with them difficult to pull of storywise if nothing else. I'd need 2 missions of them eating humble pie, which let's face it isn't going to happen.

That said, I'd possibly choose work with Cerberus or work for myself. I hope we get the choice of all three, failing that a merc with our own options who we aid.

It'll likely be a choice like the one at the end of Wing Commander 4 which is basically one between being an Illusive Man type guy crushing rebellions and ruling the military or being an instructor for the next generation of heroes.

My Shep is alliance to the core, they are the only family he's had for the past 15 or so years. Once the reapers have been taken care of he'll go back, possibly as Admiral Shepard...hmmm.....

Captain of his own ship, still an specrtre, hell ya. Alliance.. probably not, but I'll still look out for them, just won't go out of my way for them if necessary.

If I'm presented with the options [go back to alliance, go back to council, freelance, etc.] I'm sure I'll choose some of each. Most of my choices would try to balance both Alliance and Spectre duties though ....

Edit:  If not then I may try to go the B5 route and become the new president of the interstellar alliance? .... After all I could easily be considered "inconvenient" by a lot of folks .... :)

Depending on the Shepard I carry over

I have one that accepted Spectre status back but still distrusts/regrets saving the Council. Destroyed the Collector base and told TIM to shove it.

I have one that refused Spectre status regrets saving the Council and told them to shove it. Saved the Reaper base and is a full fledged Cerberus agent now.

May create another eventually.

No.
If the option's there, she'll probably stay with Cerberus. Hell, the most powerful man in the galaxy and the most dangerous woman in the galaxy- I sense the makings of an unstoppable team.
Provided the Illusive Man refrains from stabbing her in the back.
...
Please don't stab her in the back. ;3;

Otherwise, she'd probably found her own organization and keep an eye on her former allies (Alliance, Council, etc.) from afar.
Maybe she'd step in if a crisis arose and it looked like people could stand to see how it's done.

Ok weird question.... after taking/delaying the Reapers again.... what's left for Shepard to fight against?

Any merc/pirate/slaver etc.... would be stupid to fight against him/her

Well, that brings us to the other option I thought of for my Shep: namely, "Hell with this; I'm retiring."

As previously mentioned, she'd still be sure to keep an eye on things and make sure the galaxy didn't go to hell in the proverbial handbasket.

While lounging on a beach somewhere.
Umbrella drink optional. >.>

Adm. Hackett: Shepard, you've been finally promoted to Captain, and here is your new assignment: You are to report to TIM as his second in command. And run errands for him for the rest of your life!

EDIT:  Of course I'd ditch both, can't trust either of them.

Ya know... assuming we don't all die or anything by the Reapers/Collectors beforehand Image IPB

So will your Shepard go back to the Alliance? I can't really see it happening..... trust the council?

Nope, my Shepard doesn't take demotions.

Well judging from that side mission where you get that encrypted message which you can either give to Cerberus, keep for yourself, or give to the Alliance I assume we will have a choice in ME3 (I hope).

My problem is that I usually go Renegade and but I get nostalgic thinking about working with the Alliance in ME1. But then I like the Illusive Man but he will probably end up stabbing me in the back anyways.

I will probably work on my own in the end/

Actually, I'm a little confused. Once Shepard becomes a Spectre, who is only answerable to the Council, why is he still taking orders from the Alliance? I would have thought all connections to the Alliance would be severed to prevent any possible conflict of interest. If Spectres are the agents of the Council, then it makes little sense why the Council's agents are taking orders from someone else.

If Shepard is given a choice to go free-lancing, or return to his Spectre duty, I'd definitely pick Spectre duty. The bad guys you find when you go free-lancing are small potatoes compared to the ones the Council needs to put down. After taking down Saren, Sovereign and the Collectors, going after petty criminals is just insulting.

^ Because he still has an alliance crew and ship. He could leave if he wanted, but I don't know where the spectre law stands on commandeering millitary vessels for whatever use they want.

I don't think Shep will go back to the Alliance, or stay with Cerberus. Shep is out there doing whatever the hell Shep wants in ME3. Freelance all the way. Receive mission options from the crew of the Normandy or something, or even our very good friend (Or lover) the new Shadow Broker.....

Which Shepard?=)

I have 2 "main" ones. Pure Paragon vanguard is certainly hoping to return to Alliance one day, and a slightly less pure (how do you call one who is 100% Paragon and about 40% Renegade? Paragade? Or does that word means something else?) infiltrator is going solo. She "might" keep her Spectre status and be loyal to the Council if they'll show some intelligence in ME3. Which is not likely to happen=)
