When you export models from DATOOL, the number of files can run anywhere from 7 to 11 (I am betting it has something to do with the number of meshes used to create the model). Most of the time the file names follow the tutorial pretty well. So if I export prp_alchemy_frog_0, I get 7 files and my important ones are:
PRP_Alchemy_Frog (MAO)
prp_alchemy_frog (MMH)
prp_alchemy_frog (MSH)
With sweet names like that, I can follow the tutorial.
BUT, should I export prp_ferpaint_01_0, I get 10 files. The MMH and PHY files look fine - there is one of each and they are named as above. However, I have 2 MAO files:
blk_master
fereldenpainting02
and neither of these really allow me to follow the tutorial, since they don't have prp in the name and there are two of them for this one model. I looked and did not find a model called "fereldenpainting" or I would have just exported that instead.
Just faking it as best I can allows me to create an entry in the custom placeables dropdown and to place items of the general shape and size of ferpaint_01_0 in my area. However, when I enter the area, they do not appear at all. Not surprising, as I'm not following the directions.
Has anyone created working placeables from models that created more than one MAO file? If so, could you walk us through what you did? Thanks.
