I'm now making a female Shepard run in Mass Effect 1 after playing the horrible and depressing default female Shepard in Mass Effect 2. But I don't know which class to pick, and what I should focus on for that class. I'm thinking either a Sentinel or an Infiltrator, since I already have an Engineer and Vanguard playthrough. Any tips and suggestions for those?

I think an Adept would give you a very different playthrough from Engineer or Vanguard.
Sentinel is a good all-rounder. You don't lose Decryption/Electronics, and you get Throw/Lift.
I always had the most fun as an Infiltrator. Because I like getting the snipers before they get me. Carried that class over to ME2 as well.

I had a lot of fun with my renegade vangaurd and paragon infiltrator in ME1 and carry over to ME2. In ME1 I had electronics as my bonus when vangaurd and adept. bonus to shields and dont need to worry about the mako.

I just started up an infiltrator today and it's a blast. Feels like a perfect fit for a Spectre too, IMO.

infiltrator definately is great and fits my playing style perfectly. i pu ai hacking as bonus and i feel so coll being able to hack
the othe ones seemed too boring for me, but i think i need to try vangaurd or maybe a full adept playthrough (went back to infiltrator in the beginning)
i didnt like the sentinal that much because you didnt have any protetion, but it is a very rounded character

For protection spend 7 points in barrier, 9 points in electronics and take the bastion specialization. That will give you an 800+ point regenerating barrier and an extra 180 points from electronics for shields. Your main defense will be crowd control and debuffs. Very few things should be shooting at you. Since they should be sabotaged, lifted or in stasis
