Best Party/build to go totally evil

Ok, so I've finished the entire game (including the DLCs) a few times, but I've yet to do most of the 'evil' side of the game.

My first play through as a mage I was tempted to burn the tower, but decided against it in the end.

SO now I've got to clean the tower, drop the blood in the ashes, and side with the werewolves.  Already did both sides of the anvil/dwarf quests.

It'll also be the first full playthrough as a warrior.  I want to make a 2H warrior, but it seems all of the origins for warriors are either S&S , DW or Archer.  Which origin is the least harmed by going 2h'd?

Any suggestions?

For the party I'm pretty sure I'll go with Morrigan, Sten and possibly Zevran (shale is a high chance as well for a tank).  Only problem would be the lack of a rogue to open everything and gain the XP from fixing the traps.  Most of the others are gushy goodness types.  And I tend to use them most of the time.

I could be wrong on this but I don't think Sten particularly approves of evil behavior. It may seem that way because when you encounter him he's just slaughtered a bunch of people, but he is trying to atone for that. I'd say Morrigan, Shale and Zevran is the best option. Zevran won't approve of you siding with the werewolves but it's a fairly insignifcant approval drop if I recall correctly.

Not sure what you mean about the origins not suiting a 2H warrior? Do you mean because they start with a S&S talent or something? If that concerns you, you could always use the character respec mod.

Morrigan, Shale and Oghren for the most part agree with the more darker choices you can make. As far as the origin choice, that really annoyed me how it assigned abilities automatically. So I picked up this mod which doesn't automatically spend points so you can re-assign them to your desire, so you can pick any origin you like.

Since you've played through enough times I'll just mention a couple brief things for your reference.

I agree with Rhys above me that You, Shale, Morr, and Zev is the best evil team. Watch out for a couple things.

If you are a mage (not sure about other classes) and choose at the top of the tower to kill off the mages, Zevran takes a medium to large approval hit and there's no way to avoid it.

If you have Shale with you and decide to betray Harrowmont (or Bhelen) to the other, by the way you can do this it just has to be done carefully and it's a separate quest, Shale will take a decent approval hit with no way to avoid.

So the moral is, even the evil bunch is still relatively sane sometimes...

Any build can be evil. But using what I feel is the best "evil" party (Sten, Morrigan, Zevran) you'll probably either be using a tank or make Sten into a 2H tank (which can work.) So you can either be a tank, Sten can be the tank and you can be any DPS, or you can not use a tank. Just my two cents.

Sten condones things that seem evil (killing mages, abandoning redcliffe village to the undead) but he disapproves of a lot of evil things that violate his sense of honor and duty. More often than not he will disapprove of the bad stuff (like defiling andraste's ashses, as one big example). Shale is a much better evil tank.

Oghren is pretty much indifferent to everything, though he may silently disapprove of some bad things (but so what? just give him some ale).

Zevran is also a better choice (he loves deals with demons and the like, and pretty much anyone can be killed on his watch) plus he can be your lockpicker and thief.

Morrigan, is of course, excellent.

My evil party:
Me - female dalish blood mage
Morrigan - shapeshifter
Sten/Shale (depended on the situation) - reaver/tank
Zevran - assassin and duelist

Wicked 702 - love the character portrait - I tried for the gaunt, crazed look with my elf mage but didn't pull it off quite so well.

ah, I should have noted I was on PS3, so mods won't help unfortunately.

thanks for the feedback. As per origin, I was meaning that there's no origin which starts you with 2H talents, so I'd have to take longer to get the talents I need.

As per Sten/shale, I guess I'll take Sten into the tower and keep shale around for the rest.

I know shale loves the reaver idea, so she'll definitely be around for that.

She.

Uh oh, plot twist!

At any rate in my 5 1/2 playthroughs, I've never once used Shale. I have no idea why, so sorry that I didn't even mention her.

Thank you very very much. I actually enjoyed all the time I spent tweaking him. He's just missing a nice little frown or scowl and everything would be perfect! Couldn't do that unfortunately. I play on a console so only basic character generation for me....

A word of advice: these characters will surprise you. In a lot of the instances, you would think he or she would approve of your choice but they disapprove! o_O

arg, typo ;)

I didn't like using Shale the first time either.  Having to switch between the different styles was annoying, since you could only pick tactics for one.  (unless someone knows a better way)

but I started using Shale as a tank, so it worked out.

I just give shale the best weapon and armor fire crystal I can find, put on Pulverizing Blows, and let her go wild. Her damage almost gets absurb once you get brilliant crystals and even more with a mage who casts Flaming Weapons on the party with high spellpower and +35% fire damage. Shale would melee for 100-110 + 45 - 55 fire damage from buff at lv20 it was insane. That's not even a crit lol.

Siding with the werewolves is the good option. I always got +8 points from Wynn and Lieanna when I sided with the Werewolves for the Xbox version if they were in my party.

Based on observation, an Evil Rogue may be able to complete all the quests. This may not be able to be done with Warriors or a Mage.

yeah, can't become the Dark wolf without having 1 point in stealth.

Siding with the werewolves to kill all of the Elves is the good option? Hunh?

I always thought that getting both the leaders to off themselves was the good option. Siding with either side to wipe out the other was the 'not so good option'. But I guess it depends.

I think most of the party gives +approval if you side with the werewolves though, at least from the comments that are tossed out when you find out that it was all the one guys fault.

i found dog to be quite good actually, particually once he gets the Overwhelm ability. You can have him singlehandedly anihilate one one those pesky emissaries or take a powerfull enemy out of a fight for longer than a stun spell or ability while damaging them to boot, plus he finds things for you, plus he never cares about any morally ambiguous chioces you make, plus ... well hes a dog and plus... he actually always (for me anyway) does what you tell him to do unlike the other party members who sometimes have a habit of spazzing out.

Dog's best Collar is the 2 armor pen 8 armor from the mage tower, not the 8 attack 8 armor from the high dragon.

you need one point in stealing not stealth, then you can use a rogue party member for the rest. I completed all those quests with my warrior, just had to put a point in stealing to open them up
