I finally got around to beating ME 2 and it was amazing. The last hour or so is heart stopping action. I survived which was great and only lost one crew member in it all. The pulse of the final segments of ME 2 flows perfectly and really has you on the edge of your seats.
Despite ME 2 having some problems ( I prefer ME 1 over it ) I have to say the ending parts of the game were FAR better than ME 1. In fact I dont think Ive ever enjoyed beating a game more than I just did with ME 2. The final boss? Hahaha....Awesome epic stuff.
I highly enjoyed it. I'll have more fond memories of ME now, until ME 3 comes out. As far as the finale of ME 2 goes? NICELY done Bioware. Nicely done.

You thought ME2's ending was more epic than ME1???.... wow!
I was alittle dissapointed. Although I enjoyed it, I thought the suicide mission was to short and too simplistic. All the missions are relatively short in comparison to ME1, but the last one should have been longer. It's the collector home base, but it felt like a shorter version of the collector ship. I was expected everyone to have a special task suited to them. And bypassing a door hardly strikes me as something requiring a master tech. Shepard can bypass a door.
And a last boss that can't even touch me? What was the point of that fight?

I thought the ending was better. More dramatic. Grander.
However, thats not my opinion on the rest of the game. Im not fond of the whole get companion, do companion mission, get another companion, do another companion mission. Which outside of the N7 missions (which is nothing to get excited about) was all ME 2 was.
There's a lot of other complaints I have regarding ME 2 in comparions to ME 1. A lot. But I wont go into all of them here.
Now that Im thinking about it the only parts of ME 2 I was impressed with was the improved combat and the ending. That was it. All the rest of it was a downplay compared to ME 1. Including story, missions, exploration, hardly any vehicle segments, and so on and so forth.
But I at least have to give them props on the ending. I thought it was far better. Too me at least. The actual ENDING after the battle was kind of dull. Which was a dissapointment. But the game play segments I highly enjoyed.

I was a little dissappointed about the suicide mission, it was far too easy/simple compared to the build up about it. And the fact that you can make everyone survive, and pretty easily too, is another 'meh' for me... But the ending itself was indeed quite epic.
Try insanity.. And i hear even though you have people's loyalties, squadmates can still die if you didnt select the right squadies.
But overall.. its more difficult than ME1 which was ridiculous. I can complete it with my eyes closed on insanity.

Sure the last boss was a T-800, but that's ok. The last boss of "Conker's Bad Fur Day" was the Alien, but that didn't make it any less epic.
It wasn't a T-800. This one had blue innards!

I've done 6 insanity playthroughs.. still counting.. It's still easy. What I really dislike is that you just have to select the right squadmates for the jobs, have the right upgrades (and they're all rather obvious) and everything goes fine.FrostGun wrote...

*shrugs* maybe so.. but its still vastly harder than ME1's interpretation of "insanity"...

I didn't see a massive space battle between two fleets and a huge space squid in 2.
Thats just a cutscene.

My problem isn't with Insanity, it's damn fun. And definately a huge improvement over ME1. My problem is with the suicide mission, it's too easy to get everyone out alive. Being a 'suicide mission' there should be some casualties no matter what.FrostGun wrote...

The Mighty Poo more than makes up for one bad boss. That game had tons of hilarious bosses: The Barnyard Boys, the bull during the "screaming ****s" scene, etc.
Anyways, I love the ending of ME2 other than el-giganto robot-o.

Compared to Omega, the end battles, cutscenes and dialogue are just not as well done.

It's not what the last boss was that made it pointless. It was the fact that it could not possibly defeat you. It was a pointless battle. I didn't even have to move out of my cover spot the whole fight. They could have done that in a way where you're on a cluster of platforms in a donut pattern and it can pop up anywhere around and in the middle of the donut. That way you'd actually have to move around. And it should also have had lesser attacks beside the one "take cover... here comes my slowly charging and only attack" attack. All the cover should have been destructable as well when hit by the main attack. Also, it should destroy a platform every round so that you have to beat it before it destoys the whole donut. There would be a console on every other platform to reconnect the platforms into a smaller and smaller donu as they are destroyed.
