What would you have done differently for the characters etc?

I just don't think the meeting with the council was well written.

Had the Council not been douches about the Reapers, we would've never gotten those glorious air quotes from Councilman Simon.

Totally worth it in my book.

The timing on this one was nothing short of glorious.

High-five.

It would have been nice to have all dossiers available from the beginning. I would get Tali and Thane sooner. Being able to recruit Legion earlier would have been cool. I also would have beefed up Jacob's combat ability. Either give him assault rifle training or biotic stasis(he had both of these in Galaxy)

There's indeed something tragically ironic about giving him a non-unique ammo power while giving him one of the crappiest weapon sets possible.

Gotta love Coalesced editing, eh.

Well short of throwing away the gimmicky suicide mission idea and writing an actual story for the sequel instead, I don't really think changing a little thing here and there would make much of a difference in the end. So pretty much starting over again from scratch is what I would do.

Mostly. Jack and Grunt can talk on Ilium,

Really? I missed that (since I rarely take Grunt). What do they say?

Jack has a "talk point" on Ilium where she talks about how weak they are, that targeting on them would be easy plunder. If you have Grunt with you he say something like "where's the fun in that", and Jack answers something to that line too.

There is a story in the game, many of us see it.

Meh, getting Legion where he is works fine and makes sence.

I would have liked it if the crew moved around a bit. Like sometimes finding Garrus in the CIC or Tali'Zorah chilling out with Joker ect.

I would have handled Miranda differently; a lot of things about her character arc for Paragon Sheps don't really jive. She seems like she should be very important, but she becomes loyal to you very easily, and we never really see why she decides to reject Cerberus--I know there's the line at the Human Reaper, but that's one line, and it's optional. As it is, her arc is basically CERBERUS IS AWESOME CERBERUS IS AWESOME I HAVE NO DOUBTS ABOUT THEM WHATSOEVER--CERBERUS SUCKS!

She has a lot of reasons to have faith in Cerberus (not the least of which that they're protecting her sister; you know, that person who's central to her loyalty?), and it's a big part of her character. We need to actually see that conflict in her, rather than assume it happens offscreen. So, I think that, instead of suddenly rejecting Cerberus at the Human Reaper, a conflicted Miranda draws her gun on you, and you have the options of Paragon/Renegading her down, talking her down via loyalty, or shooting her. Maybe it's similar to the Wrex choice, but Miranda really needs some kind of character development that we actually see. As it is, she's pretty shallow.

totally agree. there should have been more wrex like, virmire and council like decisions.

That's a good idea.  Although that would give her more than one arc, (which I'm all for, provided they don't turn into plasticine) where some characters don't get any.

He has dialogue for earlier missions, meaning originally, you were supposed to get him sooner. I vote on getting him sooner.

EDIT: And a romance option!

I would have started with not trashing the ME 1 companions. If you don't do what you should've done and retain them as crew members, then at least make their short role satisfying.

Apart from that, yes, more interaction and less static behaviour is always a good thing.

How do you know? How do you know they just put those lines in because Bioware knew people would mod to have him in there party at the start? Not only does meeting Legion on the dead Reaper make sence, he still has alot of character dev if you talk to him.

Nothing in particular. I'd personally put more dialogue in Miranda's love scene or at least have her give an explanation for it. That's about it though.

kraidy1117: It's kind of common knowledge now that you used to be able to recruit all characters in any order you wanted. They changed it when the game got big enough to be put on 2 disks. They have dialogue for every character at, say, Garrus and Mordin's recruitment missions. Why would they have put it in for modders but not for XBox owners, anyway?

Anyway, umpteenth'd on the more crew/squad dialogue. Especially more post-SM dialogue. They allow you to keep playing, yet there are at most a handful of missions to do. It's silly.

All in all, I think they did a good job, and it seems most complaints are aimed at wanting more of what's there. I'm good 'till ME3.

Um you can on the 360, try again. Putting Legion anywhere else would not be right. If you want to play with Legion, then leave all the side quest till after the suicide mission.

I thought the characters were fantastic, probably the best I've seen in 15 years of gaming.

HOWEVER, I agree with smudboy that it would have been nice to have tied them more into the plot. I can buy the whole idea that "You're recruiting these people because they're the best of the best," it makes sense...but it's a little flimsy. Was really nice to see the payoff on the suicide mission though; really made me feel like everyone had a purpose. It's just a pity it took me until the ending to realize it.

That said though, the subplots introduced by the characters is nothing short of outstanding, so I'd keep those exactly the same...only two other suggestions I can really think of:

1) More dialogue/crew banter

2) A few extra dialogue options with the ME1 characters. Wrex was fantastic but I was a little disappointed with Ashley and Liara.

Just on the characters huh? Is this limited to just the Normandy crew including EDI or can it include anyone you have a dialog with?

In either case this will take some time, since I could probably write half a page on each one of the squad mates alone.

-Let me get back on this….

I'd like to recruit characters in any order and would like to have more than 2 basic options to handle each situation ... Renegade or Paragon.

I'd like to be able to keep an eye on my crew. Like asking Kelly to watch Kasumi and make sure she doesn't get lost in her memories ; make sure Grunt sees his squadmates as a team instead of folks to kill later ; try to keep Jack at least 2 decks away from Miranda at all times ; etc.
