Not only does it have a nice ring, but what a great way to end the romantic relationships?

Now before you start proclaiming my virginity and demeaning me please hear me out.

It will make you care about the characters more, by literally exposing themselves to you the relationships become far more intimate.

Its not that taboo anymore because its becoming more and more frequent in gaming. Recent games like Heavy Rain and God of War have had it and was met with little or no fuss.

It pushes boundaries and thats what this series is all about. Taking the RPG genre as far as it can go. Its not too crazy of an idea and when done appropriately can be very tasteful and add to the gaming experience of ME3.

Thoughts?

I'll care about the characters boobies more, maybe.

I wont argue against it if BioWare decides to go that route, but I certainly don't think it's necessary.

And, I'm curious about the boundaries this series has pushed. Machines aren't as evil as we thought? The first aliens we meet might be blue mono-genered ones that like to have mind sex?

Nudity in games is just tacky as hell.

As big as the game industry has become, and the respect it has earned in the last 10 years. Nudity in games is just looked upon as porn for video game freaks. There is no reason whats so ever that Mass Effect should go this route. BioWare don't want to be known as the developers who just put video games reputation back 20 years.

Have love scenes by all means (even though the romance plots are BioWares weakest writing section in my opinion, but leave the clothes on...unless it can be done tastefully.

If done like in me 1 then definately. But nothing tacky.

Doesnt matter though as anyone supporting this will be labeled a pervert

It worked in heavy rain because heavy rain feels like a mature grown up 'realistic' thriller/game. Mass effect 2 already has ridiculous clothes and camera angles, unless they can make it feel more serious and mature, nudity would just cheapen it further.

Depends.

Nudity for no point other than showing some T&A is indeed tacky and completly uneccesary. I don't need to see boobies on the strippers asari dancers around the galaxy. But like the OP says, it can be artisticaly and cinematically done as well, as part of an intimate moment between two characters who we're supposed to believe have romantic feelings for each other. Despite what FOX news initially thought, I thought the scene where Shep and his/her choice of love interest consumated their relationship in ME1 was very tastefully "filmed". While the same scenes in Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 felt more like love scenes from most non cable network shows a.ka "we just had sex, but somehow our first priority afterwards was to put our underwear back on" (Dragon Age) or the classic kissing/embracing but the camera pans away and fade to black before we see anything that might corrupt the poor innocent minds of children who shouldn't be playing an M rated game anyway (Mass Effect 2)

But at the same time mods like the countless nude-skins/'realist love scenes' mods for Dragon Age are in my opinon equally tacky. I have no desire to turn the games into hardcore porn. You'd think there's room for a tastefull middle road though.

And I agree with Em23, some of the camera angles in ME2 (of Miranda in particular) were simply silly...

I support Nudity for ME3. It was tasteful in ME1. One thing that bugged me in ME1&2 were the strippers that didn't strip. Why put them in at all, if you aren't going to show anything. I'm also a firm believer that nudity is less harmful then violence. Show some skin, and that's bad...show blood, death, violence, horror, that's okay...that seems messed up to me.

I was alright with the tasteful nudity in the first Mass Effect. Maybe the scene a lot more intimate, more romantic. In ME2 it just looks like teenagers messing around.

It is the double standard after all: In GOW 3, they said they had come up with some new kind of gore/guts? physics or something, and yet if there's a X colored breast in a game, everyone freaks. Hell, if you're gonna go the violence route in ME 3, can headshots make heads blow up? I shoot something with the Mantis, Widow, whatever in the head-that head isn't there anymore.

I wouldn't mind. I'd certainly prefer it to the sometimes clumsy way BW "self-censors" it's love scenes (Case in point: DA. Morrigan actually *dresses up* for sex.).

We are all adults, the game has a M-rating. We can handle it.

I hope sometime in the not so far future "adult" gaming doesn't reduce itself to "peww, peww head-shot."

If it's tastefully done and not simply a marketing gimmick, then I'd be all for it - see the love scene in Heavy Rain - but all this means the game has to actually be mature and not just pretend to maturity in the gamer sense (blood + bewbs = mature).

What is this tasteful or artistic nudity that keeps being bandied around? What does it mean? Is there any example we can all look at and say, "Now that's tasteful nudity", or is it just a bunch of words tossed around to push the case to see naked alien chicks?

It's tasteful if the nudity is there to support the impact of the scene.

It's immature / non-artistic if the scene is only there to show you nudity.

I honestly would care less if this was added or not, but I'm sure that there are plenty of folks out there that do. It would definitely add more flavor and realism to love scenes, but I can see them overdoing it and getting severe backlash. Hell, Miranda had on a skin-tight suit and just from that we get ass shot after ass shot - too much exaggeration if you ask me.

I dont think there needs to be nudity as such, but a more intimacy in the romance plot and with your LI will work nicely

ME1 nudity was good and (what I would call) tasteful. You could tell that they were nude, which was appropriate for the scene, but you never actually saw anything. That's enough nudity for a game.

It doesn't matter to me either way, but I'd trust Bioware to add nudity in a tasteful way. There's nothing wrong with showing some skin, but the media might have another heart attack. Who knows.

The only media that had a heart attack last time was Faux News so I really dont see it as a issue.

Yes, but only if it fits the Character of the involved Squad-members. For example, Grunt or Tali running around naked wouldn´t be so good.

Why not if it's well binded with the story - add some casual costume customization also- and there it is just an essence of "nudity" it's not going to hurt anyone .

what they showed in ME2 was a joke. i was surprised that miranda bothered to show some skin and jack is... well always showing her skin. tali was a complete joke. i hope they do things a little differently in ME3. like maybe show talis face, arms, and waist. im all for ME3 romances showing off a little more just as long as it's in good taste.
