I think it's actually kinda pointless, if you want a porn game I know a guy who can point ya toward pretty much anything you could possibly want.

Yeah, we're all ComicCon nerds, right? Condescending remarks like that ran rampant on the original boards and it's still in full swing here. You may get emotional fulfillment from headshots but here's a newsflash. Some people actually play games for their story and not combat.

Truth be told, if I want that kind of enligtenment, I probably would read a book. I'm all for intriguing stories and plots, but quite frankly, sometimes I don't want or expect the same kind of storytelling genius from playing a video game. I don't think it's wrong that I want to shut my brain off and snipe some pixelated bad guys every once in a while.

But hey, what do I know. Apparently, I'm not much of a "real" fan of the series anymore, since I happen to enjoy the "improved" TPS gameplay. I should just be able to appreciate spamming my Spectre X weapon without penalty, because hey, at least the story is better.

There are different genres of television, film, and books. Why can't there be more Alan Wake, ME1, Heavy Rain, or Final Fantasy X games? Why?

I wonder what kind of replay Value Heavy rain has? I'm guessing none.

I hope they remove LI's altogether so I can watch the mass suicide of all the "mature" gamers on these forums. If you're mature enough to look at nipples, aren't you mature enough to be okay without them?

LOL!  I can live without nipples (barely) but I'll still be pushin' for skin in ME3, and not necessarily because of the romantic factor.

I want a more mature game, yes. Tastefull nudity (not porn) is one more way to get it there.

Not if it's just nudity for the sake of nudity, just like how I feel that ME2 has way too much sex for the sake of sex. For male Shepard and the Camera-Man anyway.

While I realy hope the first sentence doesn't turn out to be true, as doing away with LIs so late in the game would be REALLY jarring to this "mature" gamer.  I'm actually in agreement with the second part:)

Big, cinematic love scenes aren't vital for the progression of a love story.  Sure it can help emphasize it,, but a decent writer can make it clear what exactly happened after a fadeout.  Presumably, we're all grownups and don't need every detail spelled out.  A heartfelt speech or passionate kiss can be just as emotionally stirring as seeing clothes hit the ground.  Maybe more so, depending on the emotion you want stirred.

That said, if a clothes-off scene would be truly beneficial to the story, and not just fan service for the more, um, "hormonally abundant" players, well, I'm fine with that too.  As I said: grownup.

IMO, ME2 was probably more sexed-up than ME1, given the outfits of several of Shep's squadmates (or as I think of them his "stripper entourage").  And ME1 did have a nude scene (albiet a pretty brief one)  What's shown and how it's shown kinda go hand-in-hand when it comes to what's appropriate.  Unfortunately that also makes "appropriate" a very subjective term.

So what's wrong with nudity for the sake of nudity...is it inherently evil?

That's one reason I don't have a problem with it in ME1. Your LI pretty much had to be pursued from the absolute beginning of the game, and it was filled with general uneasiness of breaking protocol, as well as serving as a distracting factor about the decisions you make (I mean, to be honest, how many people let Kaidan/Ashley blow up because the other one was their LI?) and so it was all building up to that one finalizing scene. On the other hand, pretty much every planet you go to, almost every planet has at least one couple being all "LOL BONERS" (Illium being the most obvious) you can complete an entire romantic subplot in about three conversations, and god help you if you play Male Shep, because every named female in the galaxy wants to slap your junk around for fun (except Chakwas, but she's probably slapped your junk around for medical purposes). Meanwhile, the camera man pulls off ass and chest shots on both genders (but mostly female) at every oppurtunity... and then people accused Bioware of being prudes for not giving themmore fanservice... it just blows my mind.

No, it's just shallow and pointless. If I just want nudity for the sake of nudity, I'll go look up nude pictures. If it actually fits into the narrative and the mood, I don't have a problem with it. If it's just cheesecake and fanservice, then it's just insulting.

You have a point. There is something to be said for moderation. It always comes back to this, though. It's all about context, and the context of the nudity and romance in ME1 was more mature imo.

I guess that's my whole point. I'm more interested in something with a decent mood (you know, a romance option that's actually romantic) and pacing than I am in seeing some alien nips.

I think we should just start calling "fan service" "Miranda's Ass." Though Jacob's behind and Samara's chest are really fighting for equal time.

So do people want nudity in ME3 for the art and beauty of it? Or are they just horny and want to see some boobies?

Yes. This is what I have been saying all along. At least, when I have discussed the topic seriously.  :innocent:

Huh. I almost agreed with Onyx. Except I'd say it's more 70/40 favoring beauty and immersion.

I thought this topic was talking about romances. What kind of romances do you engage in Onyx that involve bloo...nvm.
