I think ME1 handled it perfectly. Anything more would just be nudity for the sake of nudity, like those mods that turn Dragon Age into a porno.

jajaj that same thing happende to fallout 3

And about the thread, for me nudity is just a extra option, I don't need it to enjoy better the game

Stop flaming these mods!!!!!

As long as you don´t kill Dragons without armor they just improve the roleplaying!

Not only does it have a nice ring, but what a great way to end the romantic relationships?

Now before you start proclaiming my virginity and demeaning me please hear me out.

It will make you care about the characters more, by literally exposing themselves to you the relationships become far more intimate.

Its not that taboo anymore because its becoming more and more frequent in gaming. Recent games like Heavy Rain and God of War have had it and was met with little or no fuss.

It pushes boundaries and thats what this series is all about. Taking the RPG genre as far as it can go. Its not too crazy of an idea and when done appropriately can be very tasteful and add to the gaming experience of ME3.

Thoughts?

Is this really necessary? Let the developers decide. Your whole post, no this whole thread makes me feel like the romances in both games are being trivialized. I know you're trying to be eloquent about it but I can't help but feel disgusted.

I'd highly doubt it, the best thing you're gonna get are the scenes you have in ME2 with the LIs, most likely be the same thing again in ME3, probably improved. Bioware went that route in ME1, even though it was only explecit to an extent. The pricks at FOXnews were looking something to make a big deal out of, and they chose ME1's LI sex scenes, although, they got owned by a lot of viewers, lol. I'd bet Bioware are gonna try their best to avoid bad rep for themselves this time around from the media.

A mature love scene certainly helps the impact of a mature story. We accept nudity on a daily basis in our R rated movies without complaining that it's cheap or movie-porn, and anyone playing this game is suppose to be old enough to watch R rated movies.

I think ME1 did them perfectly, as it was intimate and tasteful. ME2 love scenes seem like they were specifically made for teenager eyes. In fact the lack of blood/gore/nudity when doing things that should result in such things makes it appear that much of this game was designed with "teenager-appropriateness" in mind. Don't get me wrong, much of the subject matter in the game is VERY mature (Jacobs/Jacks loyalty), but the violence, and particularly intimacy, was not.

I hope ME3 is completely aimed at adults, but probably not. Regardless of what the game is rated, teenagers are where the most money is at in the gaming industry, and EA knows it.

grecko That last statement just glosses over the whole topic..but I still agree with you. I say let the devs decide. nudity for the sake of nudity...having it suggested like this is just going to make it feel forced.

Depends on the situation in the game.

I'd advise Bioware to go for it, just tastefully.

Well said, I've been wrestling with how to reply to this topic without either sounding like a someone sex-starved and looking for boobies or like I'm having the discussion wth the voices in my head.

But yes, in the case of Mass Effect 2. For a game rated M (or 18+ in Europe) some aspects were a bit too teen-friendly. If it were a movie a PG-13 rating would have been much more likely than an R. Like Homey C-Dawg says though, there were some pretty dark subject matters.

A game aimed at an adult audience should be like a show on US cable, you don't HAVE to curse and show skin, but the option to use it is there should it be desired.

I dislike politically correct moralists telling me what is and isn't appropriate entertainment.

I wish people would grow the freak up.

You see worse scene's on the TV, and movies why would it be scandalous to see it in a VIDEO game. Heck I think how the handled the first Mass Effect game. The Dragon age scene's just were, so ridiculous that it wasn't even funny..... That is what you get for having people think sex is bad, and the people that want to show it are perverts. I am not a pervert, because I am against Censorship. When it show progression of the romance then I say show the nudity that had been done in Mass Effect 1.

A sex scene's I agree that it helps the impact of a story to show that the characters have grown to love each other over time. Their is nothing wrong with showing sex. if they are two consenting adults that are in love with each other. It draws people more too the characters that the love in the first place. I thought how they handle the first game was tasteful done, and add depth to the romance in the first place. I hate that people need to put their morality on others in order to feel good about themselves.

I wonder... If sex is something so terrible, shouldn´t we all be in prison then?

I mean, all of us only live because our parents had sex some time ago....

(Unless someone here is genetically engineered, in that case please speak up, good ser.)

In Mass Effect, the scene was how I call "hot" in a way. But I didn't get any horny or sexual feelings off it. But I do not support nudity in Mass Effect. In the 1st ME, it is more about sex. In ME2 it was on the side of romance more.

the romance from me1 seemed alot more realistic. mass effect 3 should kinda go the cinemax route by showing a ****** scene for no more that what 3 seconds? im not suggesting full on frontal or anything but a quick flash shot can work but they need to reintroduce the me1 romance with it

Many here see it as exactly the opposite. ME1 was a tastefull romance. ME2 was a teeny-bopper roll in the hay with all their clothes on.

Nudity in video games is for people that are too embarrassed to pull out a porno. Plain and simple. Also, to correct a few of you, ME1's romance scenes do not technically count as nudity like the morons at FOX claimed, the term they're looking for is Partial nudity. Full nudity would be complete exposure (being able to see everything) which we did not see.

Well I romanced Miranda and I found it more romantic than "bonding minds" with Liara.

Still get the shivers from that!

Miranda does show some skin infact!

Ashton she has sex in the engine room. How is that romantic in anyway shape or forum? The bonding of minds are romantic in a sense it gives more feeling to the partner.
