I would say no to the nudity, cause that would just be tacky, and really have no class

I support Nudity for ME3. It was tasteful in ME1. One thing that bugged me in ME1&2 were the strippers that didn't strip. Why put them in at all, if you aren't going to show anything. I'm also a firm believer that nudity is less harmful then violence. Show some skin, and that's bad...show blood, death, violence, horror, that's okay...that seems messed up to me.

I agree with you completely.  Although, if BioWare doesn't include it in the game as standard, they could always include a code with every new purchase that unlocks the more mature content.  Strippers stripping, more mature sex scene, etc.

Hidden/unlockable content that might cause a ratings increase is NOT the way to go. Hot Coffee controversy anyone? (and that was some incredibly tacky hidden content). Much better to be upfront about the content "Yes, this is a Mature rated game and thus contains mature content not meant for young people" .

The Saboteur had a lot of of its content locked in its release state that could be unlocked with a free day 1 DLC, but I can imagine it being tacky in ME3 if they went that route.

Do you feel that way about sex scenes in movies?

If anyone has played HEAVY RAIN, that, imo, is considered "tasteful nudity," meaning it adds to the emotions between the characters.

As opposed to "tacky nudity," meaning it's just there for the player's enjoyment of naked people.

If Bioware can differentiate between the two, then they can pull it off. This works well if the ME3 has a more mature mood the past two. If nudity occurred with some of the romances of ME2 (e.g. Female Shepard and Garrus because of his sorta obnoxious flirting), then that would be looked down upon. If it happened between Male Shepard and Jack, then it would be more appropriate.

Bioware, just DON'T do nudity solely for satisfying some people's carnal desires.

Wasnt there nudity in ME1?

why would be an issue if they brought it back for the conclusion of the trilogy?

IMO bioware tried to dumb down the sexual aspect of the game to aviod more bad press from idiot news reporters

Surely you're being sarcastic.  Garrus's flirting is obnoxious?  Seriously?  I am curious as to how you think Garrus's flirting is obnoxious, seeing as it's actually more Shepard who's doing the flirting in that case, and she comes on very strongly.

My concerns with the nudity would be Jacob, Miranda, and renegade Jack because it simply wouldn't be tasteful, given the way the romances are presented in-game.  Then you have to consider that Tali, Thane, and Garrus are also poor candidates for nudity because they're aliens, even though the romances themselves are not tacky.  Naked aliens in-game are bound to get bad press, especially if they're naked just for sex--and despite the fact that humans have been sexing up aliens for years on science fiction TV shows.  Aside from it being an automatic cause for Fox News to freak out if they show up naked for a sex scene, then you have the issue of these extra models and skins being made for the sole purpose of sex.  Resource-wise, it might not be the smartest decision (though some people are curious about what the ME aliens look like under their gear).  In the end, I have to say I don't think any of the ME2 romances really merit nudity.  Maybe ME3 would merit it, but I'd rather the devs spend their time and money making other parts of the game better than making naked people and aliens for the fans.

As said, Heavy Rain was perfect! Make the scene mean something!

But no junk being shown please, breasts are enough to get you point accross.

If Bioware started showing genetilia, well thats going to far and the critics would definately have something to complain about!

A thing to consider, why are there ony Asari dancers, why no human females? I wonder...

About nudity. Well, it may offend some I guess. My stance is with recent movement in another community: its called GROW THE **** UP! Life itself is ofefnsive and full of offence, please let me decide what I feel offensive. If the game is labelled MATURE waht do you expect? Mature content. As a consent and mature human being I do not feel offended by watching naked bodies. Visit art galleries or museums...waht do we see there? NAKED PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT FORMS...oh, my fuc***g God! There are nude ancient statues in museums?

Yes, there are. With genitalia even.

Grow the **** up.

Video games need to grow up first.

Right now we have the female characters waltzing around in ridiculously formfitting or revealing outfits and high heels in combat zones, and camera angles that make you cringe. That's hardly mature. Add nudity to that mix and you'll have all the guys acting like pubescent boys.

It's just commercial exploitation of an immature boy's fantasy.

just to chime in, no to nudity. why? because animations of the nude body look terribly cheesy. like, game-ruiningly corny. i don't have any moral or ethical objection to a game having nudity, i will point to heavy rain as a game that exerted as much effort as possible into crafting realistic models and i still thought they looked cheesy.

the human brain, the imagination and the video game experience are tied together. nudity is a fickle tool for creativity because it is so expressive, and if it is used incorrectly, then it will cheapen the game experience.

maybe in like 5-10 years games will be capable of rendering more realistic bodies that warrant the use of nudity. for now, i think it looks very cheesy.

The title of this thread should be changed to "Boobies for ME3."

It's clear that no one wants or is capable of handling nudity in all forms.

You guys crack me up. But seriously like some of you guys said, it is rated M? And i agree it should be tasteful which is why i used heavy rain as an example (although i admit i did also use GOW 3 and that certainly was not IMO). From personal experience when i'm in a relationship and my woman and i decide its time to have sex we're making a decision to take our relationship to the next level. To me sex is very important and not to be taken lightly.

That being said in all of these ME 2 scenes they do a great job of implying sex but in ME i think of myself as Shepard (unless im just f**kin around) and just an implied act is not the same. Thats why I personally woud feel more emotionally invested in these characters. I dont need a zoom up of Miranda's naked ass just enough to allow myself to kind of feel that emotion and get all wrapped up in things.

Is that a little weird? Perhaps but it is a RPG....

Unfortunately there is no financial incentive for video games to grow up. This genre is dominated by young males, and judging by the behavior of many of them on these boards, it is unlikely that a grown-up game would be well received. As long as young males have disposable income or parents who will buy them things, there will be a preponderance of games that feature overly sexualized women and other elements of adolescent male fantasy. We can lament this, but it will not change the situation.

Oh, dear God... This is going to end with people creating, "I SUPPORT NUDITY FOR ME3!!!" Sigs, isn't it?

Bottom Line, it ain't gonna happen.

And it has nothing to do with Bioware's personal feelings towards nudity, and everything to do with the negative reaction to ME1's Sex Scenes.

Doesn't matter if it's tasteful or not, prudes will throw a *****fit over it and get all offended, resulting in negative publicity towards Bioware & Mass Effect 3 that could negatively effect the game's sales.

(It would probably boost them at first, but get enough prudes together and next thing you know all the retailers stop carrying the game and sales plummet.)

To quote Udina on the subject, "Do the words 'Political ****storm' mean anything to you?"

If you want Nudity in ME3 so bad, just get the PC Version. I guarantee you that a Nude Mod will come out for it eventually in several different styles by several different mods. (Tasteful, dirty, XXX, etc)

But there already was nudity in ME1, and the furor over that died down. A number of games nowadays have nudity.

It's not crucial, obviously, that they include skin. But I applaude their efforts in ME1. That took some nerve to try and make a romantic scene work in a game. It easily could have come across as just plain silly.

Have you ever stopped to look at the Asari dancers in Afterlife?

You certainly have a point, but I don't think we are 5 or 10 years off. More like 2 imo.

I just don't want this to turn into another obnoxious topic that goes on long after Bioware says it isn't going to happen. Like the Same-Sex Romance Topic.

Has Bioware said it isn't going to happen?

Again, its not as important as gameplay or story that they have nudity. What it does do, however, is raise the bar for games in general, I think. Especially when its done in good taste. Like I said, it took nerve to do it in MassEffect. I want to see them try again, just to shake things up a bit.

Seriously THIS. Video games really do need to grow up. Don't whine about people not talking you seriously when you're not willing to take serious criticism and branch out beyond "OMG BEWBS!". <_<
