I have experienced some Undead freezing while the rest of the game went on.
I know this isn't the same thing but, I have also experienced people getting stuck but, they weren't frozen. Once I resumed control of them they started moving again.

I tried that too...but nothing changend.

they freeze or stuck always in a battle or when i just start it.

i really dont know why...and after a battle sometimes they follow me...but often not.

before 3.30 ive never had any problems with DAO not in 60 hours.

and now in the first 2h around 10 times..or to put it better...every fight.

Even though I like Star ocean 3 more, I think that so4 is pretty good, too.
The story gets better as it goes and the characters really do grow on you (even though some voices are annoying at first).
Figthing is a lot of fun and boss fights can be hard without the right tactics. I love that symbologists are useful also in th main-game and not merely in post-game (unlike in SO3). There are also many abilities to choose from, which makes fighting more enjoyabl.
You should definitely play it

That reminds me all of a sudden, I need to continue with SO4 as well  everyone says the voices are so annoying but even between my wife and I, the "... 'kay?" quote is a running gag. And English isn't even our native tongue

thanks for that, ive never played star ocean before, but since my heartbreak with final fantasy i think its time to explore new options

oh yeh i also wanted to ask if people were experiencing this problem with their crashes, i noticed when my game crashed - my autosave files wouldnt load. anyone else get this?

I had autosave issues after crashes too. My guess is that the game crashes before the save is totally complete.
I started to just save manually every thirty seconds, basically.

Your problem may be different from what I have experienced. You probably tried this so, bear with me if I am repeating myself but, while your party member is stuck,, try taking control of the character and re-engage them in the battle. Then switch to another part member or back to yourself and see if this helps. If not we don't have long to wait for the patch. Then we can see  what's the firmware and what's inherent in the game.

Hurray though the last few hours of playing DAO didn't crash on me (ok, so maybe I only played like 4 hours in total since all the crashing happened).
