I'm afraid not. Companions don't transfer over like weapons, armor, and items do.

However Alistair may make a cameo (depends on your choices in Origins), Wynne also makes a cameo, and Oghren will join your party.

The patch is working wonderfully. Whew. Thanks to everyone on this forum. It helped a lot to hear from everyone while we were waiting.

had a few moments where it froze at the end of a conversation and i was sure it was gonna crash, but it seemed to decide not to.lol.

Should I install the patch? I bought a slim after my 40gb fat PS3 died, it sucks that I couldn't transfer any of my characters. Anyways I started a new game and my game only froze one today, is the patch working fine for everyone?

I just played for a few hours after the patch with no freezes.  It seems like the game is running smoother than it did before as well, load times are faster it seems.  I would download it, they fixed the problem from what I can tell.

Yeah, just wanted to let you guys at Bioware know the patch is working beautifully. I've been playing for several hours now and just recently stopped, I'm so glad I'm back on DAO. I felt like I haven't played it for like a whole month even though its been what, a week tops. Anyways, once again, great job and keep up the good work.

Patch applied, played fine for several hours. Experienced a freeze loading a save game right before entering the big room full of Hurlocks in the Raw Fade...

I agree! Stop asking questions like "is the patch working" - "should I install the patch" etc... First everyone was ****ing about how long it's been taking for it to come out, and now there is ppl who are not sure if they should install... weird... Just install, and good!

Patch worked great got it around 4aclock us eastern time thanks bioware i knew you guys wouldn't fail you have my 60bucks for the next game and Darkspawn chronicles is totally worth a buy i had a blast!

No freeze.. but....



Framerate is super choppy?



I made a mage, finished the fade, got to the tower..



Tower - Ostagar and if I even slightly move the camera, the framerate drops by 1/2 for a second..



As I move around, i sometimes speed up and slow down, as the framerate alters every few seconds..



This was right after turning PS3 on as well, it was cool D:

The framerate only gets choppy once and while for me. Its not anything to do with 3.30 firmwire, it was like that before i berly notice it anymore to best honest.

So far, so good. I installed the patch yesterday and I could download the DLCs and the game hasn't freezed during hours. But it is true that the framerate sometimes is slower. Anyway I'm quite satisfied, 2 out of 3 isn't that bad....

Weird, no issues here in the Raw Fade. Some slowing down while opening doors (made me twitch for a sec  ) but no hangs after 3 hours of playing. Ofcourse I still save every 3 minutes (but mostly because the raw Fade parts were a bit hard  )

I've been off for a while and I was 100% certain that the patch was done A LONG TIME AGO, then now I notice all these posts are only 14h old. Well it's a good thing I didn't play DAO for a week....



So, how long did all this take? I mean seriously.

So I'm going to be a total jerk and ask this question before I even try looking for myself.

 I'm in Asia, with an imported American copy of DAO, but a Japanese PSN profile.

 Will the update be available to me?
 I don't have access to my PS3 until I finish working overtime and I'm on pins and needles here!

 Ps, unrelated but I bought Peace Walker to tide me over until the patch. It is awesome!

Just installed the update (1.02) after being prompted to do so & Voila!.....framerate still choppy & game crashes an hour into playing...so absolutely nothing was fixed! Its not the console or the disk (all my other games run smoothly & the disk is both clean & scratch free) so I've pretty much given up...

What a tragic loss...

unlucky for some. have you guys actually tried reinstalling you dao game. since the recent update my dao has been running nicely for solid 4hrs+(no crash yet) compare before the update 3 or 4 times in an hour the game freezes.
