What I don't understand is that it works for most everybody though!Vex Cobo wrote...
Just installed the update (1.02) after being prompted to do so & Voila!.....framerate still choppy & game crashes an hour into playing...so absolutely nothing was fixed! Its not the console or the disk (all my other games run smoothly & the disk is both clean & scratch free) so I've pretty much given up...
What a tragic loss...

My game is running just fine too! Finally able to play again with no issues!agoodwin wrote...
Follow up from yesterday. I have tried to get my game to freeze. Visited all the places that seemed to cause the most problems. Really pushed it. Gladly no issues, no freezing. The patch is working flawlessly. Yes!

Before you give up. It may be worth reformatting your hard disk. You'll loose your game data but, it may be a healthy choice for your game system. After reformatting you'll have a clean defaulted PS3. Then install Dragon Age and let the rest prompt you through.

The thing with reinstalling is that your savegames are lost. Now I wonder why we are not allowed to backup our savegames. I don not mean copy, mind you, I would be ok if I could just move them to an USB-stick or such, so that I will not loose it when reformatting my PS3. Reformatting might indeed speed your system up. I don't know how the PS3 handles defragmentation of the HDD. It is not just DAO that prevents copies/backups from saves, I just don't see why. Well maybe except for trophies, but it is not impossible to prevent backups(not copies) to work on other PS3s.

Amazon has a $20 credit, DLC, and the price is $53 no tax, free shipping right now.Theirn wrote...
Back up and running played for a couple hours last night with no issues, Saved from having to go out and buy Red Dead Redemption right away.
So I essentially got RDR new for $33
Didn't have time for DAO patch last night

Reason I ask this is I have played through DAO several ways, with different characters and experiencing different endings. The game has been written so well that when the quests are finished, archdemon is dead, meloncholy sets in and I find I must start another game. Oh And the music toward the end slays me. I'd love to talk with other folks and hear their feelings.
I am reading over the posted DAO/Awakening forums and so far I haven't hit the right room just yet.

GOOD NEWS!
There is a patch coming TONIGHT that will fix the crash caused by the 3.3 firmware update. You can get the details here: http://social.biowar...8/index/2645196
The patch that came out pre-Darkspawn Chronicles absolutely is the firmware 3.30 freeze fixing patch.
What we don't have is this hinted/talked around/coming someday bug fixing patch.
Which, to be honest, I'm thinking will never happen.

The game slooooooowwwwwed down horribly in the marketplace during Darkspawn Chronicles, but otherwise the game has been running smoothly for me. Haven't had any problems with Origins or Awakening.
Did that as well with me but if you didnt notice every time it did that was because an enemy was popping up on the screen from behind the nearest door you was near. I noticed the slow down in a lot of areas in the DC DLC. Every time it was right before a new enemy would show up outta no where on the screen.

Yea, and the 360 version got the completely broken online treatment where joining games freezes up you system, and if you are actually able to get into a game, horses, weapons, environments, animals and even your own and other people's characters are invisible.
And to the person who said uninstalling your game from PS3 deletes your saves.....no it doesn't. If you reformatted your HDD it would yes, but then again, while you can't directly copy certain game's saves to a USB stick, you can make a backup before doing your reformatting, which I believe WILL copy even copy protected game saves, though I actually havn't done that myself to know for sure. But just deleting a games install data will not delete your saves. They are completely seperate.

lol....no.
This is bs because there is no such thing as a common quality and framerate for PC games.
Every PC is different, and very few people can turn everything to maximum.
PS3/Xbox 360 versions of gamess are probably looking better for most players.

Wow you're either a pointless liar or your console or disc is faulty, which one are you choosing?
