no freezing for me today played a good 5 hours straight. plaed Darkspan Chronicles lastnight no issues at all, and was a fun hour and a half. I didn't think I would enjoy it but I did.



everything is gravy.

Same here, played Awakening for 2 hours and enjoyed every minute of it.

6 hrs in and it froze. i bought the game and PS3 5 days ago. spent the first whole day gaming Dragon age. day 2 dumb me takes a bioware patch update (ahh yes well all remember patch problems from Neverwinter 2..) so i thought i was lucky that yesterday the fix patch was released....until 6 hrs into the game i am defending a village from zombies all gun ho and full of goosebumps and BAM freeze again. Back to Arkum Asylum for me and a post it on my PS3 saying never buy BIOWARE...60$ bucks wasted.

Back up and running played for a couple hours last night with no issues, Saved from having to go out and buy Red Dead Redemption right away.

Lucky you. Nowhere to buy games where i live. Just a store to order them. Their selection is limited and sometimes theyre out of stock.

It might of been your PS3 overheating that time. For most people the patch works.

The patch definitely solved the crashing problem. I enabled internet connection and autosave and have been travelling while the game autosaves many times to force it to freeze but its been going good. However while playing through Darkspawn Chronicles I experienced massive slowdown

Installed the patch and have been playing from the beginning for about 4 hours but it just froze up on me at the Ogre/top floor tower fight. Screen is locked up, sound effects continue.

Just to elaborate on my setup that just froze, It's a (originally) 60 gig ps2 compatible model with a new 500 gig newly formatted hard drive. DA Origins is the only game on it, the only thing I've installed since putting in the new drive. May be coincidence but the Ogre fight in the Ostegar tower is the most "intense" scene I've been in so far and that's when it froze.

Oh and i am playing origins had the update 3point something then it started freezing about every hour. got the fix, played 6 hrs froze rebooted played again froze. it keeps freezing during the zombie invasion at redcliffe village...and i was so looking to mack on that red headed barmaid after... all my other games work just pulled a four hour batman anf dynasty war 6. Should i sell this game?

I wouldn't freak out about freezes/crashes quite yet. Before 3.30 I experienced 3 separate freezing incidents when playing Dragon Age. I wouldn't get antsy unless the game freezes steadily every minute/hour/etc as it did before the patch.

Played about 3 hours last no freezes until I beat the ogre on top floor. Tried again a few minutes ago on the same save and froze every 30 seconds or so. Tryed a new game and froze every 2-3 minutes after opening dialogue. Reformatted ps3 and reinstalled DOA and got the new patch again, started yet another new game as elves, froze about 5 times consistantly 4-5 minutes into the game. Jus bought this game 5 days ago, stoked to play, 4 hours of gameplay 5 hours of ps3 restarting. Guess im waiting for another patch before i return this game which I dont wanna do.

Anyone know of a forum regarding the emotional pros and cons of playing Darkspawn Chronicals? I can't stomach the thought of killing Grey Wardens.

Reason I ask this is I have played through DAO several ways, with different characters and experiencing different endings. The game has been written so well that when the quests are finished, archdemon is dead, meloncholy sets in and I find I must start another game. Oh And the music toward the end slays me. I'd love to talk with other folks and hear their feelings.

I am reading over the posted DAO/Awakening forums and so far I haven't hit the right room just yet.

I've been playing it since November, and probably finished it over 20 times by now. I played different characters, men and women, and was struggling whether or not I should get the new dlc. Well, I did, and I don't regret it. It is kinda rough to kill Alistair at the end, esp when he gives you that "look". But it's different, and if you want to keep up-to-date with your trophies it's a must. Which reminds me: does anybody know what the last hidden trophy is? I've got the one with the ogre, but don't know the 2d one.

Search the internet and you will find that there may be another firmware update to 3.40 coming soon. Will it mess up everything again, or will it actually be better? Guess we'll find out!
