Same here. Disc was in.

Although considering the game installs on the HD and I can't see why that would have any effect. Course I'm not a game developer either so I'll just shush up. :D

That is true but i'd guess that a majority of the game runs off the disk and the install was just to cut down load times. It only installs a couple of gig on the PS3 where as I think the PC version takes up like 18-20 GB.

Hi it seems like that DAO asskick we got from the update is a problem most can´t solve themselves.
I`ve deleted the installed game completly and tried it one more time with the normal version without the DAO update , beeing online but no result . I also deletet the options and put them back to standart and again it freezes. Sometimes in a fight, sometimes i was just walking around but never in the menu. Maybe its the best to wait for the fix , i don´t think that the freezes damage the ps3 but I´m sure It´s not that healthy eighter oO

Ps: sorry for my english :P

My disc was not in when I updated, and, as mentioned earlier, i have literally just removed mine from the packaging. it looks amazing and the packaging has that awesome 'new game' smell, so frustrating that i can hardly draw my sword without a crash. Come on Bioware, dont make me buy FF13 to distract me from revision, please!

As with the install thing, the majority of game data will be on the Blu Ray, it will only install system files and commonly accessed files, to reduce loading times etc.

I was counting on Dragon Age to distract me from revision too. I wish Sony actually listened to us like Bioware does...

Looks like my disk theory is dead now.

Seems Sony is not paying any attention to this problem. Maybe if we had an email address we could start using. That might get their attention

Too bad I don't have one for Sony.

I spoke with Sony today.  They aren't even acknowledging that there is a problem.  They told me that my problem was "unique".  Of course, I told them to check this thread and their own official forum as well.  We all know where that's going to go....absolutely no where.

They are getting paid to do exactly what they are doing.  Level 1 customer support, they are simply reading a script.  If you go off their script with new problems, they tell you it's the game's fault.

Their script dictates that they should NEVER blame Sony, the PS3 hardware, or the PSNetwork and ALWAYS instead blame the user, blame the game, blame your pet cat etc...

I remember having this problem with uncharted drakes fortune a few months back, sony fixed the problem straight away with an immediate update....of course they did! cos uncharted is "exclusive" to their console they have no problem fixing it, but when a multi platform game encounters the same problem they deny any problem at all! lmao sony are scum.

I was on a Sony forum earlier and someone had said that it's a bad idea to install a firmware update with a disk in the system. Now I remember that I had my dragon age disk in my PS3 when I updated to 3.30.
Maybe thats why it's only effecting Dragon Age?

What about the rest of you guys? Did you all have your Dragon Age disk in your PS3 when you updated?

Disk was in my PS3 too. Oh I also got the Feastday combo pack before updating I think. Not exactly sure though..

Brammers I say this in an excellent idea!

                                                                              New Quest
                                                                     The Impossible Task

Request Aid from Sony
While this may not force Sony to change their wicked ways, it would certainly be hilarious. May I suggest everyone call Sony at let's say... 6pm central time? In my opinion, we should call at the same time every day.  If we continue this they'll either have to deal with a bogged down phone support every night or have to hire more script readers (Hey we can help the economy). Bioware seems to be handling everything in this matter (thank you so much for that), maybe we can nudge Sony to lend a hand? Yourself has agreed to offer you your dignity if you are successful.

"New Quest: The impossible task"

That, Akutai, is brilliant :)

Unfortunately I live in England, so it would cost me ALOT of money to call the US technical support number. It's a good idea though. If you all you guys in the US call that number at the time Akutai suggested it will definitely turn some heads at Sony.

Haha, yeah I hope that it would. I'll be doing it starting tonight, although I have to retract my statement about helping the economy, as I'm fairly sure the guy I talked to was outsourced.. could be wrong! Sorry to hear you can't join in Brammers as you're the questgiver here .

I've mailed Ign.com yesterday in the vain hope of giving Sony a slap in the face with bad publicity and maybe get them to react, and made sure to direct Them to this thread, I don't think Bioware is at fault here - they have a difficult task of problemfinding. But Sonys reaction is extremely critizisable.

I urge All to do the same with other gaming sites - bad publicity is the only Way to make Sony react maybe??

I'm surprised IGN didn't pick up on this sooner actually... There are a few game sites out there that have reported on it already. Thats how i discovered that it wasn't just me getting crashes.

Hi, first post here, think I might have figured out a short term solution (worked for me anyway.)
Go to "Network settings" on the XMB (did this with my internet cable plugged in), then choose "Test Connection" it'll display a message saying it's looking for information, while it's doing this pull your cable out from the back. I was getting crashes once every 2 minutes or so, this has calmed it down to about 1 every couple of hours or so.
Sorry I can't be more technical, hope it helps, and good luck.
