Game crashing after PS3 Firmware 3.30 update

I am having the same issues, installed 3.30 and now I get totally frozen out after a very short amount of play controller stops working and I have to hit the PS3 power button, I also went to save my game and it froze while saving which was a worrying moment but thankfully my files are still working. The freeze seems to be totally random too which doesn't help anything.

Be sure everyone contacts Sony..... Go here http://us.playstation.com/support/ask/ post your complaint. Every thing I read in this thread here is exactly what happen to me too.

The game ran flawlessly before.

This is an issue that Sony needs to correct but without feedback from everyone they wont..........

Be sure to post your problem at the above link I provided.

I have spent 2 hours on the phone discussing this damn 3.30 update.

Im tired of Sony making all us becoming beta testers.....

The 3.30 update was basicly for those with the new 3d tvs that intend to play 3d games in the future...

That doesn't involve me...Really pisses me off as I could play 6 hours straight no issues and now freezing every 20 to 30 minutes....

Would be nice if Bioware added a comment to this thread so we knew if it was on their side of coding or Sony's. More leaning towards Sony. Ah screw it let's blame both. Bioware for locked saves and Sony for their stupidity that is bricking a GOTY RPG from 2009.

Yeah game crashed about every 45 minutes.  If it didn't crash I got stuck in combat and couldn't touch anything.  Doors staying locked when quest should have unlocked them.  This is annoying in the alienange orphanage since it leaves you locked in a room after a major fight.

I am tempted to just start skipping quests so I can get it done.

I'm trying to stomach the freezes to play with my King-Consort file. It was behaving itself for awhile last night. Till i try to interface with a shop in Denerim last night.

I have the same problem. With more than 80 hours of gameplay, DAO never crashed at all. Today I played for less than one hour and it has crashed twice! I hope Sony or Bioware fixes this, I'm at the final level!!

Never had a problem in 100+ hours of play till 3.30 came out. Now I can't play 30 minutes without a freeze. Seems to happen anywhere with any save I load.

Just got this game a few days before the 3.30 patch and was working great (aside form framerate issues), but after updating to 3.30 the PS3 is locking up every 15 minutes... This is ridiculous. I've run other games like Demon's Souls and GT5P and they're all working normally.

Same problem here, my ps3 (fat 40g) rarely freeze since i bought it two years ago, two or three times i don't remember. But now with 3.30 it freeze every 15 minutes.

Seems like the BD modifications are dropping commands if ejecting unfreezes.

Why isn't anyone from bioware answering?

I have the same problem.

I was near the end of the game and now i can't play it anymore...

65 euros gone for nothing. Thank you bioware, thank you sony.

sounds probable on the offical playstation forum some are experiencing the same problem but with the Avatar BD.

Same problem for me. Dragon Age worked flawlessly before, now it is completely unplayable.



What really sucks is that the latest PS3 system software update is not optional if you are to use your console online.

Same problem here, I've basically had to shelve it until after this is fixed. If you haven't updated DON'T!!!!

It happened within 20 minutes, 4 times in a row.

First walking, second walking, third middle on a battle, fourth, same...



Basically makes it useless to try and play, and I was just debating buying some additional content, guess that will have to wait.

Well, I talked to the EA live support through chat, and it seems as if the support people weren't really aware of the issue. I even got a canned response telling me to install new system software, which I thought was kinda cute.



Supposedly the support agent is going to forward this issue to his supervisor, complete with the link to this thread. If something comes out of that, I'm unsure. I'd expect this to be a Sony issue.

I doubt this will ever be fixed and if so bioware is going to have to do it sony wont care enough to spend money on updating a patch for one game :( **** 3D GAMING!

I'm glad I didn't buy Awakening yet, it was going to be my reward for finishing spring semester...now I won't buy it until I can play. What is the point!

We will pass the information you have provided to the development team. Regretfully we do not have information on if or when a fix will be put in place. They are however collecting data from the community and are examining solutions if they determine enough customers have the problem and the problem is technically addressable with a patch, or if a work around is possible.
