I'm sad I can't play Dragon Age but this is the most I've played my guitar since I bought the game :P

I think all the things everyones tried to fix this aren't really working as a permanent solution. We need Bioware to email us back. Hopefully they'll give us updates on what they're doing and not just stay out of contact till they've fixed it.

Omg...i was lucky to get a link on another website that drop me here to see this before i update my system. I was just about to dowload the 3.30...Man first was the DLC and now this...

I guess im gonna stay offline for now and wait to see if we gonna have a fix for this since i dont see anyone saying the game works well after the update. Or at least until i finish my first character game. I hope EA fix this because even if a new system update could take this problem out i dont think Sony gonna realese a new one for now...Maybe we can pray for a new one since they realese 2 updates in a matter of days...and this frequently systems updates are soooo usefull for MOST of the ps3 users right...? WRONG!

As far as i know this last 2 ps3 system updates didnt got anything that would improve my gaming experience for the next few months at least.

And for the guys saying they gonna get back to pc...oh well i hope you guys have luck on that because pc can be a pain too. The reason i got a ps3 was because of all the bs i was having on pc about the compatibility issue, time to install issue, etc...now the video games have the same problems...great.

P.S1: Sorry for my english

It took a while but my game just froze up again after about 2,5 hours gametime. I'm still playing with my setup as follows:

- UTP cable removed
- Autosave disabled

I still believe that those settings are causing me great relief from the freezing issues. Unfortunately, it's not a permanent fix. I can probably play the game with them max 2 hours at a time...

The freeze occurred at ostagar after entering the tower of ishal(during the return to ostagar dlc). I didn't really notice anything strange that would indicate why it crashed. This is a really difficult problem to diagnos and my hopes for a fix are becoming non-existant.

I kinda wish i didn't shell out 70 bucks for the ps3 version and the expansions... I'd like to continue playing but the freezes can't really be good for my system or the game... It's only a matter of time before a savegame, or the gamedate becomes unstable(if they haven't already). Or worse a broken down PS3...

Well, whenever a game goes down for a while, it's always a good time to get re addicted to Civ 4 for a month or two.

Yeah thats true I've enjoyed talking to you guys :)

Plus Jess Chobot talked to me on twitter cos of this... Twice!

@Scorpgul Ive not had that happen yet but I did get a funny graphical glitch when my character went to do the finishing move on an ogre (the dual blade one when the char jumps on it and stabs it up) and one of my party members got in the way so I ended up doing the finishing move in mid air about 4 feet away from the ogre :P

I've been playing for a little bit now. I paused it and went to go pick my son up from school. So far so good. But of course, it's just a matter of time....

OH MY GOD.

Yesterday I could play for a few hours without crashes and today..

Circle of mages: no freezes (yes I was shocked too) but then I got to Fade: crashes every 5 minutes.

I am kinda scared to play anymore, I am worried about my ps3 slim (it's only 3 months old for gods sake). Bummer, I'm in love with my mage and afraid of playing right now :|

I don't think turning it off after crash is good for my system..

Just my luck: bought game the day 3.30 was released..

Back to FFXIII for a while I guess

Updates:

I got the e-mail asking for details from Bioware about my system and crashes.

I've done a TON of troubleshooting myself and I figured I would share.

I disconnected the internet-seemed to cut down on crashing, not a fix.

I deleted all my game data- temporary relief, no longer term effect.

I reinstalled DA:O-no effect

I formatted by HardDrive-no effect

I redownloaded 3.30 and installed it manually, no other changes-made it worse

I turned down the resolution to 720p, and turned off smoothing/upscaling-no effect

I reinstalled 3.30 with my PS3 on factory defaults, and disk out-seems to have eliminated the graphic intensive crashes (battles, walking etc.)

So the best option for me, so far was reinstalling 3.30 with the PS3 on it's factory defaults, and no disc in the thing....

But I did have 2 crashes after this once in inventory, once opening a door, after which I disconnected my internet again.

So far so good...

ChrissyTina you're a mum and you play Dragon Age?! Thats so cool!

I sound like such a kid :P

@jaqe yeah its best if you avoid playing Dragon Age unless you want to try out the various "fixes" floating around. That really sucks that you only just got the game.

mine usually freezes:

during level ups

not very often to autosaves but it has happened to me

while encountering enemies

while switching to party members

while switching weapon set

and when i play Awakening the audio gets muted for a while

and then goes back for like 10-20 minutes

Both DAO and Awakening freezes

the freeze usually began when i created a mage charchter which was about the time when 3.30 firmware came out

By the way when the freezes happen I have found that ejecting the disc is much faster than having to switch it off. After you eject the disc it takes a few seconds then the system autorestarts. This could possibly mean something

When you set the system to factory defaults and reinstalled 3.30 did that mean losing all your game data?

@brammers: yes, I am a mom...of 4 actually. And I LOVE this game. I actually HATED video games until my husband convinced me to give them another try (long emo story...blah blah blah). I started with Oblivion (which I loved) then went to Demon Souls (which frustrates me) then to this one.

That gives me hope that I can turn my girlfriend into a gamer :P So far I've managed to get her playing Little Big Planet :P

*Edit*
P.S I can't wait for Demon's Souls to get its European release! I've been holding out in importing it because I'm financially challenged.

I tried most of the temporary fixes, and I am really frustrated.

Did another file restore just now, going to check DA:O - but it's the last time LOL.

Btw, I had the most scary freeze today - during save

LOL! She just has to figure out what she likes. And approach it with an open mind. It's hard. Actually, and this may sound beyond stupid, I started out by messing with the stupid apps on facebook.

Me and husband like to see who's going to beat the game first (I did) and then who gets all of the trophies (he usually wins). I like to see what I can do with a character.
