Demon's Souls PvP? thats where you like enter someones game as a black phantom and kill them to steal their soul don't you? It sounds so mean. I like it!

FireLioness,
They are collecting data but haven't come up with a fix or cause as of yet...
I was beginning to assume my PS3 was too hot, it has never done this before.

Thats what I thought at first as well but then it started doing it all the time. I then discovered this tread. Seriously this thing has kept me going without Dragon Age for the past few days

If anyone remembers Vagrant Story for the PS1, very similar game (weapon customization, single player, actionish dungeon crawl, seems really hard til you figure out the system)

Black Phantoms have less HPs and such, so they are at a disadvantage. The problem of course w/ DS PVP is balance, and like many PVP games, over time people figure out the "best build/loadout" so diversity sort of goes away.

Loved Demon's Souls, not nearly as hard as people make it out to be IF you read the Wiki. The manual and in game help is only mildly helpful.

You don't really even need a wiki for anything but maybe the bosses that aren't really that hard either. The only 2 that I thought were difficult were Flamelurker and Old King Allant the rest were pretty easy. People think the game is hard because things in that game matter that don't usually matter in most games.
Stamina matters, defense matters, blocking dodging matters, dying matters which in turn makes winning MATTER. Most people who think the game is hard are people who try to play it like a god of war game which does not work. Once you get past like 2-1 the game is easy because you pretty much know what you are doing.
I loved Demon's Souls. What kind of class did you guys play?

Exactly correct. EVERYTHING matters in that game.

Nice, i played a soldier. I ended my first playthrough at soul level 101 with 60 hours of play.
I like how difficult the enemies can be by themselves. I think that if the enemies weren't challenging it would take away from the atmosphere of the game.
I mean if they were all pushovers you wouldn't be afraid of whats lurking around the next dark corner.

More Mom's here who play games! We have Demon's Souls as well but I've only watched my husband play it and not get very far. Looks a bit frustrating to me especially since you can't save when ever you wanted. I was thinking of giving Assassins Creed II a go, especially if DA:A gets to much to play with all the freezing, looks like it might be fun.
Assassins Creed II is an amazing game(I'm a man just so everyone knows xD). You should definitely give it a try.
On topic:
The annoying thing about this whole Dragon Age situation is that the crashing is almost impossible to intentionally provoke. It's like it happens differently everytime. For instance, I was in the Ruins that you enter from the Brecillian forest and I kept having to re-do this one fight because it kept freezing everytime.
So I tried it again and I just directly went into the next room after the fight instead of picking up items from the Skeletons and I was able to get past that part. HOWEVER....Once I got out of that room I saved, walked out of the room for a couple minutes(in real life), came back..guess what?
Frozen <_<

I know for the most part that everybody in this thread is having lock up problems with DAO. Out of curiousity, are there any forum lurkers reading this post that are NOT having problems? Please post if this is you.
I'm just lurking and sending silent thoughts of support for you guys. I happened to check the forum before installing the update on my PS3 and have been playing offline without the update.
My husband has his own PS3 (yes, we are insane) and he did download the update and isn't having problems with Bad Company. I played DAO for a while on his PS3 with no freezes but then thought better of it. If I screw up his PS3 he'll take mine and I can't have that! LOL
My daughter is only 3 but with two gaming parents I don't think she'll escape...
edited since I meant update, not "patch"

Try DS!!! It is frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of the mechanics, it gets easier. On my first time playing, I was able to play through and beat Phalanx. After that, it can get a bit tricky. But give it a try. It's an amazing game with a phenominal atmosphere. It's definitely a throwback to the old school!

What are you getting stuck on in the first level? You do know that there are some parts in the first level that are ment for you to do at later parts in the game right? I know I died quite a few times trying to take on the red eyed knight in 1-1 when I first started until I read that you should come back to him later.
