I've been able to play today...but everytime I have to get up, I save and leave it on the pause menu. I've been saving a lot too. so far so good.....

Init real pain in the butt and starting to do my head in now I was about to smash my controller lol I really want to play the game again thats the thing its just that good

Lol, don't worry about him.  Come back to him at a later level once you gain some levels.  Just work your way through the fogs.  They are pretty easy. Stay away from the dragons too.  The first boss whos name is Phalanx is really easy.  He's just a big blob that has a bunch of little blobs protecting him.  Just use the pillars to kite him around and watch out for the spear attacks from the little ones.  they are weak agains fire and magic damage if you have it.  Just work your way through the little blobs and once they are just about gone the big boss is very easy, just wear him down.

Its pretty easy. If you can get past the steep learning curve it will be one of the most memorable games you;ll ever play. The only game that compares to it for me is dragon age but in a completley different way.

That's funny. I make sure to take out the dragon as soon as i can! I stand on the top of the 2nd tower and pelt it with either arrows or soul arrow. takes a while, but it makes life a lot easier!!

Edit:  Those of you interested in the game, if you are looking for a rich storytelling experience, DS is not it.

Thats the dragon in 1-2,  i'm talking about the ones in 1-1 the two that sit on the hill together.  Although you can go there and shoot the red dragon to collect the items on the hillside, it is risky but possible if your carefull not to aggro the blue dragon.

very true. I like to get the goodies. I usually wait until both dragons disappear. I think that happens after you beat Phalanx. Now I wanna play DS!!!

I think its cool that the game never ends.  Every time you beat the game it goes to NG+ and NG++ and NG+++++++++ and so on.  its crazy.  It gets 50% hard on the first NG+ and then 8% harder every time after that.

One more observation: the freeze usually happens the instant I invoke the UI - either the radial menu, save menu, inventory, etc.

I think saving often does help. I might play tomorrow if I have time. How many hours have you got without a crash?

I've been playing it off and on for about 6 hours now. I even left to go pick up my oldest kids from school and left it on (with the pause menu up) and was able to pick it up.

Does Awakening freeze too? I'm too paranoid to try it.

I called EA and Bioware and they told me that they are working on a solution and they gave me a link to this forum to follow the progress. The word is out. They are trying to dind a fix!

For some people it does for some people it doesnt but freeze or not there is an issue screwing with both games since that plagued firmware landed

This is why I ALWAYS wait afew days and check the PS3 Forums on GameFAQs before updating.



Pretty much every firmware that's come out since September 2009 has been bugged, then got patched afew days to a week later.
