I called EA and Bioware and they told me that they are working on a solution and they gave me a link to this forum to follow the progress. The word is out. They are trying to dind a fix!
I'll be happy with the freeze fix but I hope they fix the framerate issues while they are at it. Always hope for the best

I hope this gets patched before the weekend. I desperately want to finish this game...

yeah right..............your asking them to fix this freeze problem when it postponed RtO on 360 for almost 2-3 weeks while they fixed the Specialization problems.

is compiling a list of games that are having problems with the 3.30 firmware update.
Seems the list is growning.

No sony probably still thinks 3.30 works wonders. If our systems are locking up after rebuilding database they need to be serviced is what they said to me. Sony can make a good system but they don't like to be held accountable for their own screw ups.

Forgive me if I'm being naive, but has anyone else noticed a difference when the PS3 controller is plugged in? My game was freezing every 1 - 10 minutes ever since the 3.30 update (I updated the day after it became available). I plugged the controller in last night to charge it and decided to try DAO again, and since then I've been able to play for several hours at a time without a single freeze. Has this happened with anyone else?
yea so far thats been working for me *fingers crossed*

My Lords and Ladies! Our platform has been threatened before! Its been invaded, and lost and won by Xbox and PC fanboy's times beyond counting. We PS3 gamers have proven that we will never truly be conquered so long as we are united! We must not let ourselves be divided now! STAND with me and we shall defeat even the update itself!!!

thanks for the link.
I was looking at the sony forum and im starting to think that this new firmware got issues like those old ones on the end of 2009...maybe its a combination of game coding and firmware doing this...who knows.

If this controller thing proves to be the fix then i guess its a firmware issue...I remember a old firmware had issues with wireless controling some time ago, i think was one of those from late 2009...

Was your controller plugged in or unplugged during the update to 3.30?
Mine was unplugged.
Have you been able to play the game with the controller plugged in without any issues?
I have not had the time to test this yet.

Loved Demon's Souls, not nearly as hard as people make it out to be IF you read the Wiki. The manual and in game help is only mildly helpful.
If anyone remembers Vagrant Story for the PS1, very similar game (weapon customization, single player, actionish dungeon crawl, seems really hard til you figure out the system)

Just have a couple of interns play the game on a consumer ps3 until it freezes and then they can report to you how it happened.
