Just had a freeze after 3 hours of play funnily enough it was when I hadn't saved in a while. I was planning to save as soon as i'd looked at my quest log, and then it crashed. First time its happened for me in a menu of some sort.

In case we needed more signs that the crashes are pretty much random and not triggered by something in particular, I tried to play again yesterday. Saving frequently, I had successfully played for 20 minutes or so. I was in the Gnawed Noble Tavern in Denerim. Made some potions. Noticed my inventory was all jammed up again, as usual. So I took out a piece of paper, and spent a few minutes climbing around in my inventory writing down all the stuff I've been lugging around with no idea if I need it. Once I'd completed that list, with no technical difficulties, I put down my controller and went downstairs to look up these items on the computer and see if I could safely sell them (yes, I could. Every one of them heh). I went back upstairs to sell them, and... found my PS3 hung. No sound, even, for good measure. Still just standing in the tavern. So this last hang came when I was standing still doing nothing in a different room than the PS3.

that 6 hours theory makes sense to me as i can play for about that length of time then it freezes and if i leave it for a couple of hours it seems to be ok for another 6 could it be something to do with the ps3 reaching a certain temp and overheating if there is a code problem the causing the ps3 to work harder than normal it might happen just a thought

I have had three crashes within minutes of one another, I load my save before going to the second floor of the mage tower, go upstairs, speak to Owain, head right into the library, speak to all four npcs there and pick up the books, attempt to save => freeze.



PS3 has been sat idle for hours now, will try it one more time but I really don't want to reset my PS3 anymore.

Maybe your ps3 doesn't like to be left alone No but seriously that happens to me too.  And as far as those that begin the mage origins quest, they're far more likely to get freezes.  Seems like the circle tower is a magnet for freeze encounters.

It didn't freeze this time at that point, I give up.

here's a game that i have only had one difficulty and madden 2010 it was sometimes if you create a new player it doesn't even keep him other than that no error with that...in NFS Undercover works P.S. (Shift sux it works but the game is horrible in my opinion haha)...i have no problems...no problems with NCAA football 2010...MLB 10 works fine...god of war collectors and god of war 3 work fine...Dragon Age is definently the worse hit in my library...as far as things go for Dragon age it doesn't matter what i am wearing freezes happen regardless...my freezes usually occur pretty much in the 15-20min area til i did the save trick which allowed me 2 straight hours i am at the landsmeet at this point in one playthrough and have yet to freeze before two hours because i save very often i also have kept PS upscalling and smoothing on and am connected to the internet whilst this is occuring i am a mage and i was outside of the mages stuff before the update hit i am a spirit healer and arcane warrior and have been just getting my last DA:O trophy with him which is the mage to level 20...personally i like warriors the most but thats beside the point...i have yet to try awakening post update i never liked it as much as origins i have one last trophy for that game as well i have attempted the fixes listed above and i have played 2 hrs with the okay here it goes when it glitches out but it hadn't happened til exactly at 2 hrs. as far as the game goes i haven't had a game make me come back to it nearly this much outside of FFX that was the last game i played nearly as much as this if you don't count madden 01-10 one game then those are the top two i have played i just want my PS3 to stop being under Sony's clumsy and pathetic watch sometimes i question if they even know what they are doing...but i have been around Sony for a while and didn't make sense since i am an avid follower of GOW to get an Xbow...that and my lack of interest for shooting games...okay now i am ranting about pointless ****ake mushrooms thanks to those that listened to this pointless posts

Since I tried the "proper" reinstall of 3.30, I have had only 2 crashes, and both were with the internet connected.

With it off I've played a good 10 hours so far. Of course I figure now that I have posted this it will crash...

They've gone into one of there famous radio silences. If they are not looking at this forum still they are fools i've provided alot of hints at the origin of this 3.30 bug.

If you expect anyone to read your post (not 'posts'), try at least to type it in sentences.
With punctuation, like commas, full-stops (periods for our American Cousins) and most importantly, line breaks!

You'll need a USB storage device (like an iPod or something). Just follow the instructions and viola.

Ahhh, thanks for the update - hopefully we are nearer to understanding that this may indeed be an "Internet Connection" related issue.

I will download the Update and re-install it via USB Stick later tonight (I'm still at work).
I'll keep you all updated, once I've play-tested offline.

The only similarities between my crashes so far have been that none of them happens shortly after turning the PS3, only after it has heated up a bit.



Don't know, just thought I'd share this idea since so many people are reporting being able to play for a few hours, or leaving their PS3s idle before any crashes.

Its been over 3days since anyone from bioware posted i think they owe use updates on what there doing. I doubt there doing anything tbh...

i reinstalled everything except awakening haven't done that yet and it still doesn't work for over 6hours. Eh ima go play my ps3 ill post if i see anything new :/

Well with the controller plugged in i did get about 3-4 hrs w/o it locking up but it still did. Was still disappointmented but was glad i was able to get some quests and High Dragon done.
