Hey guys, I have a sure-fire way to GUARANTEE your PS3 Dragon Age won't freeze every hour...
.... DON'T install Sony Firmware Update 3.30.
I haven't and DA has been playing EXACTLY as it did before. I will be offline until a fix is available, small price to pay, but if you haven't downloaded the new firmware and want to play your Dragon Age just wait.
Sheesh, I kinda feel like I am the only one who still can enjoy this game!

Its a joke! If you sold tvs that worked for a week and then just started turning off on their own, youd expect a full refund! I switched from 360 to ps3 after i found out that 360s where built by todlers who where using melted chocolate on the heat sync. First impressions.......******* AWESOME!!! Bad Company 2, uncharted 1&2........And of course, being a huge bioware fan and having loved it on 360...... i brought dragon age........not only that but i also recomended it to another PS3 owner!
So thank you Sony/EA/BIOWARE, for not only making me look a ***, but for putting a glitch ridden, half finished beta(this happend with mass effect too & KOTOR although nowhere NEAR this bad) on the shelves at FULL RRP!!!! Also for royaly shafting the gaming public by making them PAY for DLC thats meant to fix it! Gaming geniuses to con men in 1 deft move, nicely done.....RIP the bioware we used to know and love.lol

@brammers_01: No we do not,
Wtf, btw its not Biowares fault that our games keep freezing. Its the boneheads at Sony, or is it Sony... Im thinking its a conspiricy, its Microscoft trying to make it a Exclusive like they did with Mass Effect. Its treason i say!!!!
lmao, I can see myself in the future doing that xDPanznerr wrote...

I've had it freeze at least twice that I currently remember since updating my firmware also at random moments, most recently just a few minutes ago. Can't say it didn't happen before because it has but it seems to be happening more frequently since before it was like once or twice over the course of 50 hours but in the last two or so hours of game time, it's done it twice. >_< As for details, I didn't take note of exactly what was happening but once was while getting ready to leave camp and selecting my party, selected two characters and Leilana for my last member and it froze right after. Current one was right after solving the bridge puzzle in the gauntlet and taking my character through the walkway, Got right to it and everything stopped.
EDIT: Just had it happen again after not doing it so previously (died and had to reload), finished the bridge puzzle though I left Morrigan on one of the plates as I ran through the entry way, Alistair was making a the comment about cunning being favored as I went through and once again it froze.
I've had it do it out of the blue also before 3.30 but never this badly.
Edit: I just had it deadlock the system during a save. I thought i was going to have a ****ing stroke when i saw that. Thank god my files didn't get curropted.
Actually, I've rebooted my PS3 at least 2 dozen times. No problems really except it keeps freezing, although much less so ever since I began saving every 5 steps. It seems to only happen to me when I am in a big battle where lots, and I mean LOTS of different talents and spells are being used. Either way, it seems saving regularly reduces the amount of freezes or at least detracts from the data loss if you don't have a backup filevonFurious wrote...
My point was to let anyone know that if they don't update to 3.30, they won't have the problem with the game freezing.
What's the point of playing a game that crashes on a regular basis and re-booting (and possibly corrupting data) again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again?
I would suggest either avoiding the update, or find something else to play while it gets a fix. Its clear there is a problem, and re-booting your system incessantly from the freeze can't be good for your machine.
What do you suggest, Scorpgul?

There's no "disabling" the firmware update. It was launched in preparation for their 3D stuff coming this summer.
Since you already have the game installed, you should be able to reset the system to factory settings and KEEP IT OFFLINE.

So is that going to stop or at least minimise the freezing and crashing?
