Switched over to my new mage character in the fade + tower and she kept crashing on me. I'm pretty sure I saw that others who were crashing kept mentioning the fade/tower so it may be isolated to that area for some reason.

Ok just did some more testing. We may need to add location to our crash report. I played my lvl 12 rogue for over an hour running around Denerim without any crashing or hitching or anything.

yeah even on the ps forums the main cause seems to be the circle tower and the fade

- Are you playing Origins or Awakening disc (or DLC version)
- Which Sony region are you in
- Could you check a different title on your PS3 to confirm if this is DA only
Thank you.
1) Awakening with all the DLCs downloaded
2) US
3) I played FF XIII for about 30 minutes with no crashes
I do notice that since the 3.30 update it takes forever to get past the "Checking Save Data" screen. That used to not be the case. Currently I am playing in the Silverite mines and I am getting freezes about ever 15 minutes.
I also noticed that after it freezes if I eject the Awakening disc it causes my PS3 to reboot. If I don't it will just set there with the screen frozen and playing what ever music was playing at the time.

2) US (Canada)
3) Haven't checked anything else yet.
Game freezes whenever I enter a battle situation with too many characters in the same scene. Happened during the final Denerim fights (near the palace and in the market and once again inside the fort). I tried one of the afore mentioned workarounds of disconnecting from the net while playing and I didn't have any freezes. I'll try it again in the Archdemon fight to see if it locks up sans the net.

2. US
3. FF13 does not freeze
So far it has frozen about every 30 minutes for my Mage character in Ostagar and Lothering. I haven't tried any of my other saves though.

Origings disc (CE) but also have Awakenings disc and DLC wardens keep, stone prisoner, return to ostagar. I've been replaying Origins and right now i can only tell you that the freezeing on my end is only taking place in the Circle tower and the Fade. I cant at this moment tell you if it happens anywhere else becuase as you know you have to beat the circle tower in order to get out to the main map. I will later on try out Awakenings to see if the freezing happens there or not.
US North America
No other issues on games.
Almost exactly the same for me. I also have the CE and all DLC except Awakenings. Stuck in the Circle Tower currently, on my second game. I previously had no trouble with freezing before the 3.30 patch.
I have the New Zealand version, not sure if that's Europe, Australia or what as far as region goes.
Every other game works fine so far, downloaded and disc based.

I'm not talking about 1 or 2 crashes here, I'm talking in the teens over a 2 day period that requires a total reset of my PS3.
I played through the entire campaign of MW2 in one sitting with no crashes, and have been playing Darksiders over the past week without any crashes either, and from the posts above, I can rest safely assured it is NOT my PS3 system that's having a problem.
I swore once after I bought DA:O that I'd never buy another Bioware game on a console again but the lure of Awakenings fooled me. That'll never happen again.

US region.
The game crashes at random points through the game. For example, many times in combat and once while running in the Chantry in Redcliffe.
The game ran with no lockups before update 3.30. Since updating I've had the game freeze on me upwards of ten times.
I am reluctant to play my favorite game until this issue is resolved.

Am playing DA:O with Warden's Keep, RTO, Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor.
Playing in the US
250g PS3.
Played all the way through Wolverine: Uncaged yesterday w/ no problems whatsoever.
I just "unhooked" myself from the network and havent had a freeze since.

. I live in the UK
. Call of duty Modern warfare 2 seems to gltich ever since the patch by inviting a person in your friends list randomly and they keep coming back. I now this is a glitch but is it to do with the patch?
. Origins freezes for me every 30minutes.

All I definately know is tha my game never crashes as long as I'm not connected with the internet.
I guess I'm gonna try playing connected to the internet, but not to PSN.
If the game won't crash w/o being connected to PSN guess where the problme lies...
Edit: I guess testing that won't work, since you can't connect to the Dragon Age server w/o beeing connected to PSN. Too bad.

This is foolish.
- The Awakenings DLC game crashes every 10 minutes.
- This has only occurred SINCE the 3.30 update
- EVERY OTHER GAME works fine
This has to be sorted, as it reflects badly on Bioware. Like I said, every other game works fine. Therefore, please do not blame 3rd parties.
Just sort it, as you're messing with my gaming weekend.

Thank you for the reports, all. I've sent the issue to the Dev Team and QA so they can begin investigating.
Hi Victor / Or anybody from Bioware... / EA / Sony
Thanks for the response. Please can you ask your colleagues to step up their game, as this is foolish.

Once again, thanks for stepping out of the shadows bro, but get your lads to earn their money and get this sorted, as you're messing with my gaming weekend.

I tested it out without being connected to PSN. No dice, froze on me just the same.
Did you disable out reconnect? I'm testing it right now and so far(~30minutes) no freeze.
Oh and about that don't blame 3rd parties...it is not only DAO that freezes, just google and you see that there are other games to(so far it seems only games with a steady connection to the internet tho).

It also happens at other locations, but it seems to have something to do with effects / details / shaders / or something like that. E.g., it seems that it freezes when a screen transition occurs, or many shader effects are in action, and seems that Fade and Mage tower is one place with plenty of those. Maybe it helps you to debug this issue further?

Yeah I spoke too soon. Right before I went to bed my 12 rogue crashed exactly where you are, the brecilian ruins. Mine crashed trying to enter the 'fire room' with all the traps and monsters. But it does seem to me that my rogue is far more stable than my mage in circle tower. May be coincidence though, but I can play my rogue for hours and only play the mage for minutes before a crash hits.

- US
- None of my other game freeze
Fat 80g if it matters.
