My point was to let anyone know that if they don't update to 3.30, they won't have the problem with the game freezing.

What's the point of playing a game that crashes on a regular basis and re-booting (and possibly corrupting data) again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again?

I would suggest either avoiding the update, or find something else to play while it gets a fix. Its clear there is a problem, and re-booting your system incessantly from the freeze can't be good for your machine.

What do you suggest, Scorpgul?

If you read the previous posts this has been mentioned already and well after 970 posts its obvious that people already know that not installing 3.30 if the best thing to do u know and 99.9% people who are checking this forum have already installed it lol

.....yes, having a stroke allows me to use more full stops than most people. Kinda like disabled parking for your keyboard.

tried the no internet trick, dont work for my 80gig. Not going to re-install either beouse i updated to 3.30 before even installing the game so cant be a save file issue.

First when i go to buy a ps3 the only consle even available was a pre owned 40gig due to a manufacturing fault that meant all new 120 gigs where recalled (right on the release of a console selling game like GOW3 aswel!) And when i finaly get 1, i hook it up and the 1st thing i get is ******* Malware 3.30 to realy top it all off.

Ok, so this isnt realy biowares fault, its sonys. but either way its still basicly a coaster unless its sorted and if left to sony i fear it wont be untill the next system update.

I feel the same thing too, but on the other hand, it is impossible to test every single game everytime Sony release a firmware update.

Nothing is going to stop the freezing. If you have installed the firmware upgrade. This looks like a coding error. If it is , only Bioware or Sony can fix it.

Uninstalling, reinstalling, resets, deleting save files...nothing is going to work. Only if you haven't gotten the automatic upgrade and disconnected from the internet until a fix is announced are you assured your game won't freeze. That' s the only way.

 Firmware Update 3.30

I own a model CECH-2001A

I tried this and got 2.5 hours of play without a freeze. Keep in mind I wasn't doing anything that was graphics intensive. Just running around looking for loot I may have missed the first time, talking to party members, sold off some stuff, bought some other stuff and made a health poultice.

Ejected DA:O Disc.
Inserted USB stick into USB port.
Disabled internet connection.
Restored Default Settings [SETTINGS=>SYSTEM SETTINGS=>RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS]
Updated Firmware using PC Procedure http://us.playstatio...pdate/index.htm
Inserted disc and played for a couple of hours. Quit game by choice.

Next Day…

Started PS3.
Resume game.
2 hours of play including a couple small battles. Level up and freeze.
Restart.
5 minutes later freeze.

I give up. C'mon BioWare!! Please fix!! There's a bunch of gravestones at The Village Of Haven that are all sparkling and I gotta know why.

sparkling gravestones? I've never seen those. Didn't see any gravestones in haven tbh. Please fix this soon Bioware or Sony or whoever. I'm getting my own personal PS3 on my birthday tuesday and i would like to be able to play this game.

I signed up for an account so that I can be counted too. DAO played fine for a week before the 3.30 firmware update. After 3.30 update first crash after about 15 minutes. There were several more crashes before I gave up.

PS3 works fine with everything else I've tried (SSHD, Resistance 2).

Hey guys, I have a sure-fire way to GUARANTEE your PS3 Dragon Age won't freeze every hour...

.... DON'T install Sony Firmware Update 3.30.

I haven't and DA has been playing EXACTLY as it did before. I will be offline until a fix is available, small price to pay, but if you haven't downloaded the new firmware and want to play your Dragon Age just wait.

Sheesh, I kinda feel like I am the only one who still can enjoy this game!

Well, I like going online with my PS3, because I also like to see what's new at the Playstation store. Plus, if you get a new ps3 or just replace the hard drive you are forced to update the firmware. Otherwise you won't be able to transfer your data! I kept having problems last night at the beginning of the game at the mage tower, but as soon as I entered the Korcari wilds and later the tower of Ishal the game didn't freeze anymore. Guess I was lucky then...

For a company that earns millions producing video/computer games, a weekend doesn't mean much when one of your products is severely crippled.. ;) I'd say they're working this weekend as well to fix it. I sure hope so.

your asking a company that says their firmware is flawless and if our systems are experienceing crashes to send them in for service. Their exact words pretty much in a email i got from them.

Lol almost beat a entire play with 6hours a freeze and when i said i went over 6hours i didn't i was just not watching the time still 6hour every freeze. Somthings happening in 6hours offline that happens 10-30minutes online... My original theory still stands.

So... Sony's advice to me on 3.30 was... nothing. They sent me a link to a page that told me how awesome 3.30 is basically.

EA's advice to me was to delete every single save file I have pertaining to Dragon Age and to start all over again. And also to make sure that I "updated the Playstation 3 computer entertainment system with the most recent system software." (which is what caused the bloody problem in the first place).

Sooooo...... yeah..... bugger.
